I mean this shyt goes both ways (pause) with PC gamers. one minute they're complaining no game takes full advantage of their hardware. and then they're complaining when a game does take full advantage of existing hardware

6gb cards exist, and the game will scale down to cards with less vram, so I don't see the problem
There's a difference between a shytty console port that doesn't take advantage of PC hardware and a shytty console port that requires excessive specs on the PC end to make up for it being such a bad port. 6GB VRAM cards exist and I'd wager that under 5% of the people who game on PCs have them. The steam survey says under 2% of users have a card with 4GBs so it's likely worse than that.

The card I plan on buying to replace the 780 which is the 980 isn't available at all in a 6GB config. This is the latest and greatest and you can't get it in a config the game wants. You don't see the problem with that?

Not to mention it's 6gb for 1080p (we're not talking 4k textures here). How high res can you go? It makes no sense :mindblown:

anyway, I just finished The Vanishing of Ethan Carter. game was short (took me around 5 hours) but pretty cool. you're this psychic-detective dude sent in to solve some 'mysteries'. there's no combat, or 'enemies' (well one kinda...). it has a pretty cool puzzle mechanic for solving these mysteries, but overall it was a little too easy once you figure out how it works. the game is also very 'open' and it warns you right away that there's no "hand-holding"

the graphics are real good, and pretty impressive for a dx9 UE3 game. shyt basically looks like Skyrim with '100 mods'. it honestly kinda tripped me out how photo-realistic it looked in a few parts

here's the config the game 'wants'
minimum:
  • OS: 64-bit: Vista, Win 7, Win 8
  • Processor: Intel Core i5-750, 2.67 GHz | AMD Phenom II X4 965, 3.4 GHz
  • Memory: 3 GB RAM
  • Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 | AMD Radeon HD 5850
  • DirectX: Version 11
  • Network: Broadband Internet connection
  • Hard Drive: 25 GB available space

recommended:
  • OS: 64-bit: Win 7, Win 8
  • Processor: Intel Core i7-3770, 3.4 GHz | AMD FX-8350, 4.0 GHz
  • Memory: 8 GB RAM
  • Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 | AMD Radeon HD 7950
  • DirectX: Version 11
  • Network: Broadband Internet connection
  • Hard Drive: 40 GB available space
if you want to use their super-duper 'ultra' HD 6gb textures, you'll just have to get Titan Black or wait for nvidia to release cards with more vram :yeshrug:

anyways, the fukkin game wasn't even on my radar but it is reviewing well :patrice:

make sure you remove the video and audio cards, you may want to consider removing the cooling as well.
you don't want any of that stuff coming loose and banging around in there.
