Around the time time you installed watch dogs it seems something was altered. What worries me is readimg you say that 780s are artifacting that shouldnt happen normally. Everything in my gut telling me you should wipe your system before something does damage to it.
Damn, a fresh install? I'll have to think about that. The problems could have existed beforehand but I just didn't notice them until watch dogs too I guess. I'm gonna test the gpus more today and then make a decision.

Man I'm about to throw AMD in the bushes man. Their CPU's are fukking trash. This FX 6300 seems like a MARGINAL improvement over my Fx 4100. It seems like some games are performing WORSE now and introducing stuttering I didn't have before. I didn't even OC it yet.

Dolphin emu has stuttering now on a build that worked perfect for my Fx 4100.

BF4 is stuttering like crazy on mantle or DX11.

Tomb Raider performs as if it's still the FX 4100 in there.

I've been thinking about this more. What do you think Watch Dogs did to the system? Can games really fukk up your shyt like that? (if so, I'm gonna be even more upset at that piece of shyt game...:pacspit:)

Also, if I only artifact with Valley and nothing else, is that all good? Or is artifacting in Valley a tell-tale sign of GPU problems?

That will DEF make a difference trust me...great cpu..just make sure ur mobo can handle it..
I just have to try it out more because the games vary. Bf4 and watch dogs are running poorly. Bf4 on my pc has this extreme stutter that doesn't go away no matter what settings its on. Watch dogs still has drops to the 20s when driving but it can go up to the 40s sometimes. On my cousin cpu his fx6300 stock clock, my 8gbs ram from my system, and a gtx 660 runs the game smoother. Makes no sense becausei see people on the battlefield forums with THE SAME specs as mines saying the game runs smooth.

So I just ran Valley, Heaven and 3d Mark to test for artifacting. I'm getting great scores in 3d Mark (close to 22000 for the GPU) with no artifacting, no artifacting in 3 monitors on Heaven, but artifacting (white flickering on some textures) in valley. The artifacting in valley happens immediately (i.e., it's not contingent on temperature. It was artifacting at 55 C).

Could the artifacting just be some weird valley glitch? Anybody else see the white flickering in Valley (I checked a youtube clip and the video didn't have it in in).

I know I can't RMA a card if it's just fukked up on one program too. I'm thinking it might just be a weird valley glitch. But, I'm curious to as what you all think

Edit: It looks like the flickering might be normal. Apparently there are so weird graphical glitches with the 780ti and Valley with their drivers

(edit, and no I'm not Swedish...it's just the first thing that popped up...lol)

Whew....the exact same artifact I'm getting is being reported as a know bug

@NotoriousJerry does this change your opinion about wiping everything and doing a fresh install?

as much as i need for a nice setup, like 800 tops. i have a laptop for personal use, i want this as a dedicated gaming pc. gonna connect it to my tv.
That can get you a nice i5, 270X, 16GB RAM, and an SSD + Large Hard Drive setup. It all depends on how big of a deal storage is for you.

Well, I'm back to only seeing 12gb ram in windows and in the bios (CPU-Z is only seeing 12 now too). :sadbron: The bios says Dimm B1 is at fault. :why:

It's looking like a mobo issue (I'll still check the ram though). :to:

PC gaming hasn't been treating me well recently :patrice:

Edit: why does it work sometimes but not others? :mindblown:

Edit 2: Now I'm back to 16gb and I have no fukking idea why. I did nothing and it just went back to 16gb. What the fukk is going on? :wtf:
