I just did that, it says 12gb. The only place that says 16gb is cpu-z.Do me a favor and boot into your bios and tell me what it says is your ram.
I'll check one more time though. Hold on a sec

Yeah, I just checked the bios. 12288mb (so 12gb). How could this be possible with only 2 8gb sticks?Do me a favor and boot into your bios and tell me what it says is your ram.
Ok thats fine I want you to use your jumpers and remove the cmos battery clearing your mobo.I just did that, it says 12gb. The only place that says 16gb is cpu-z.

shyt, I'm gonna have to fukk with that tomorrow. But so by removing the cmos battery, it should clear the mobo and get things back to normal?Ok thats fine I want you to use your jumpers and remove the cmos battery clearing your mobo.
Thanks. I'm gonna try that tomorrow. I'm gonna do a factory reset from the bios now (try the easy way first and fukk with the harder shyt tomorrow). It's just weird that it's only using half of one of my sticks. Strange shytYep it will reset your mobo memory. A few things could be wrong a mobo setting ram in improper slot. It however has nothing to do with the OS you have. Your ram sticks or a stick could also not be seated properly.
Well the easy way didn't work...lolYour issues pretty common bro. Most the time the issues in the bios or a bad stick of ram.
I just checked in the bios and it's saying a dimm slot is "abnormal" This may be a bigger problem than I thought. I did some research. I might have to get a new mobo if the ram is not faulty (which I don't think it is). Luckily I got a warranty on the mobo where they'll just give me a new one on the spot.Np Honestly mother boards at times give false info my asus hero mobo gives bad temp reading if cpu z tells you that your system is running 16gb it safe.
K their are some test you can do to test if the ram is bad like removing a stick at a time and seeing if they both pass ram test error free. If both work and pass both test then move to making sure they in proper slots. But shid we can visit that tomorrow. Hopefully a reset will work, but I'm not certain
Thanks. One of the USB 3 ports isn't working either now. Something is fukked up. I really hope it's not a mobo issue too. I'll recheck the ram and hope that usb 3 port works tomorrow. :fingerscrossed:K their are some test you can do to test if the ram is bad like removing a stick at a time and seeing if they both pass ram test error free. Sounds like a mobo issue. Try this:Thanks. One of the USB 3 ports isn't working either now. Something is fukked up. I really hope it's not a mobo issue too. I'll recheck the ram and hope that usb 3 port works tomorrow. :fingerscrossed:
Thanks. I'm gonna give that a try tomorrow too. I fear the worst though.Sounds like a mobo issue. Try this:
Remove a ram stick and see if the amount available in Windows shows up as half. If not try putting the stick of RAM in one of the slots to see which one is the problem.
