So I just ran Valley, Heaven and 3d Mark to test for artifacting. I'm getting great scores in 3d Mark (close to 22000 for the GPU) with no artifacting, no artifacting in 3 monitors on Heaven, but artifacting (white flickering on some textures) in valley. The artifacting in valley happens immediately (i.e., it's not contingent on temperature. It was artifacting at 55 C).

Could the artifacting just be some weird valley glitch? Anybody else see the white flickering in Valley (I checked a youtube clip and the video didn't have it in in).

I know I can't RMA a card if it's just fukked up on one program too. I'm thinking it might just be a weird valley glitch. But, I'm curious to as what you all think

Edit: It looks like the flickering might be normal. Apparently there are so weird graphical glitches with the 780ti and Valley with their drivers

(edit, and no I'm not Swedish...it's just the first thing that popped up...lol)

Whew....the exact same artifact I'm getting is being reported as a know bug

yep, I get those flashing textures on valley too

:pachaha: My goodness am I wreck lately with my PC. I tried to run a blend test with Prime 95 with my CPU OC'd and the computer restarted as SOON as I hit start.

I'm trying to see if my shyt is maybe throttling because the horrific performance in BF4 is just uncalled for. shyt is beyond AMD cpu's being subpar to Intel.

You getting a hit in BF4 doesn't add up to me. Something is definitely going on in there. When was the last time you did a good cleaning in there? Are you using the same old heatsink you had on your old processor?

You guys are killing me with this AMD bashing :to:

I have admitted defeat in that area, their processors are trash compared to intel...they broke my heart with bulldozer a few years ago.

Man I'm about to throw AMD in the bushes man. Their CPU's are fukking trash. This FX 6300 seems like a MARGINAL improvement over my Fx 4100. It seems like some games are performing WORSE now and introducing stuttering I didn't have before. I didn't even OC it yet.

Dolphin emu has stuttering now on a build that worked perfect for my Fx 4100.

BF4 is stuttering like crazy on mantle or DX11.

Tomb Raider performs as if it's still the FX 4100 in there.

Reading this leaves me to thinking its possible one of yours cores are not stable is your cpu over clocked?

Whats ur pc specs?
Mobo: Asus M5A78L M- LX Plus AM3+ socket SB 750 Chipset
AMD FX-6300 3.5GHZ Stock
8GB DDR3 10600
2GB R9 270X (Diamond)
Win 8.1 64 bit on an SSD.(Games are on a separate drive.)

I'm using an aftermarket cooler on my CPU, not stock. Cooler Master Hyper 212...

When I removed the heatsink I cleaned it using alcohol and used a fresh dab of arctic silver 5 thermal paste on the new CPU. CPU idle temp is about 25 degrees Celsius and 36c under full load according to Prime 95.

I have to tinker around with my shyt. I had an issue like this before with the FX 4100.

I tested this with my CPU's overclocked and since prime 95 resetted my CPU due to that I reverted back to default settings in the bios. I unparked my CPU's using this app and I also made sure to turn off any power saving options in the BIOS to not throttle the CPU. Temps are fine.

The only thing so far I noticed that was off was my CPU clock speeds fluctuating while Prime 95 was running. Stock speeds are 3.5 but yet I kept seeing it jump from 2.X-3.5.

HWINFO shows this..

Screenshot%202014-06-22%2000.10.41.png

After an 1 hour 25 minutes no errors.

Seems like my CPU speeds are throttling down but not due to temps because my temps are fine.

So my ram, when it finally recognizes it as 16gb, is error free.

Am I to assume it's mobo issue now that it keeps switching between 12 and 16gb?

I'm about to take the ram out in the bad slot and put it back in and see if that works, but I doubt it will.

It has to be the mobo at this point.

How old is it?
40 days ish

It's still on warranty, plus I bought a 3 year warranty on the mobo where frys will give me a new one, no questions asked.

It's just gonna be a hassle nownow
