Any suggestions on a gaming laptop brehs just for games like The Sims 4? I have a 2012 MacBook Pro that I play Sims 4 on but it's really not built for that obviously so the graphics are either on medium to low settings. I have about 4 GB of CC/Mods too so that effects things but I get about 30-40 FPS right now on my current settings with no crashes but I ultimately want to be able to play on Ultra settings using a gaming laptop with no lag.

I found a Acer Nitro 5 but I think this is overdoing it just for me playing this one game or games that are similar graphics wise.

Then there's this one

Something under $600 would be ideal

27" 1440p 144Hz IPS monitor.
I'll have to search some more for 1440p joints, been looking at this one to pair with an Ultrawide...

The X35, PG35VQ and XG438Q are all disappointing. Lg needs to hurry up with the 38GL950GB, they are the only brand releasing high-end monitors worth buying right now.

System Builder

What do ya'll think of this build for a computer I will mostly be using to run VM's and do other labbing/cert studying and work? This would be my first PC build but want something I can run a few virtual machines on to go with my Network+ and Security+ prep and maybe also run raspberry pi.

Am I missing anything? I'm not planning to do any gaming on it, but maybe I should throw a video card in there anyway? Debating cuz I'm at a price point I like..

What HDMI cables do yal use? The cheap joints from Amazon is what I typically always get, but this is my first 144hz display, will I be good with any cable at this point?

What's the most yal spent on a cable?

I ended up getting the LG 34UC80-B and the LG 27GL650F-B.

Initially I was like I'm a just grab 2 cheap monitors for my office mainly for video editing and other work related tasks. Then I ventured off into the Ultrawide realm... and eventually the gaming realm with that 144hz panel

Here I was thinking I was only going to drop like $400 for 2 cheap 1080p joints before this journey began

pick up cheaper ram and see if you can find a pair of 32gb of ram. Look for 3200mhz or 3000mhz ram, do not go under 3000 for future upgrades.

Return or cancel both, terrible options for price. Get the Acer ED347 for ultrawide and do not spend 250 on a 1080p monitor unless it's 240hz. Better off picking up a 1440p 144hz-165hz VA panel monitor than a 1080p IPS monitor

Use displayport cables.

I went with IPS panels because color consistency is high on my priority list. I plan on doing a lot of color grading and color correction with this setup, gaming is secondary. I couldn't find a 27in over 60hz-75hz in that price range ($250)... I could be wrong, but I was looking up monitors legit, for the last 2 days.

Also, I left this part out, but I have a $200 gift card credit I used on this purchase, so that's the only reason I raised my budget some, I was looking at some real cheap options with lesser specs before I got the gift cards.
