@Ciggavelli Please tell me you're as hype for the 2080 Ti Super as I am? If they could only get multi-gpu working for a large enough stable of quality titles I would definitely pick up two.
Yeah, I'm interested in the new Super cards. They're supposedly have a new chip as well. And, yeah, I'm done with multi-gpu setups (although I always say that, and then buy 2 cards :francis:).

I'm interested in seeing benchmarks on the super 2080ti. If the increases are substantial, I might sell my current 2080tis. Though, if there are only slight increases, it wouldn't be worth it to me. Still, I'm curious :jbhmm:

Yeah i saw they mentioned it wasn't a refresh for the 2080Ti Super, but an new chip. I think whatever it is, it'll be designed to offer 4K ray tracing at 60fps minimum. Only way it's worth it for me personally at this point. But similar to you, I'll see that and get the upgrade bug as soon as it drops.

Is there any reason for me to save extra money for one of the 570 boards when I get one of the new Ryzen chips next month?

From what I read they will have PCIE 4.0e slots but the Gpus don't even use the lanes with PCUE 3.0e. I don't about the new super cards that are supposed to come out.

Do you already have old gen ryzen? That's the only reason to buy older motherboard then newer. The new cpu won't be compatible out the box with older boards

Brehs, my computer isn't running so well and it's 4 years old. It's upgrade time, but I'm not even sure how far behind I am. My system has an i7 4790, a GTX 980, and 16gb ddr3.

your hardware is still decent, unless you're trying to do 4k or some shyt. how is it not running well? do you have a SSD?

It used to freeze when I was in the BIOS, but now it just freezes at the manufacturer's logo on startup.

Say brehs, it's time for me to buy build a new PC, probably for September. I'm not a gamer so I'm not looking to overclock anything or have the highest possible specs though I do some video editing (After Effects, Premiere and use softwares like Revit or Archicad). I'd rather have a good multitasking PC (with plenty of RAM and a solid CPU) rather than a gaming oriented PC. Will probably splash 800€/1K USD on it.

Here's the parts I'm interesting in : System Builder - Ryzen 5 2600 3.4 GHz 6-Core, GeForce GTX 1060 6GB 6 GB Strix, 101 ATX Mid Tower - PCPartPicker
I already have hard drives and my current SSD for storage. PSU is 700W (from my current PC) and I will probably hook this up to my current 27" monitor or alternatively to a soon to be bought 55" TV. What do you guys think ?

My current setup (from 2014) :
Code:
PSU : Be Quiet System Power 7 700w 80Plus Silver
CASE : BitFenix Outlaw
CPU : AMD FX 8350 Black Edition (4.0 GHz)
COOLER : Cooler Master Hyper TX3 Evo
MB : ASRock 970 Pro3 2.0
GPU : Gigabyte R9 280x
GPU : Gainward GTX580 Phantom
RAM : 4 x G.Skill XL Series RipJaws X Series 4 Go DDR3 1600 MHz - PC12800
SSD : Samsung 840 Pro 120Go
MONITOR : AOC 27 E2795VH
HDD : 1 x 250Gb + 1 x 500Gb (not even full)
Come on, help a breh out :ld:

The parts that you're interested in is good, but I would say if you don't mind waiting a bit AMD is releasing their new CPU lineup next month that's if you don't mind waiting. Also, the GPU could either be swapped with a RX 580/590 8gb or a GTX 1660 ti seeing as that 1060 is $356 you can even find a 2060 cheaper than the 1060. Other than that it's a good list.

Need to get a new laptop. My Dell is communicating a hardware issue and at this point between a new part and labor, it'll cost more than it's worth. Don't want to spend a lot on a new either. The most usage I'll get from it is when college football season starts and I begin writing again in addition to editing media.

Thanks, well I'm planning this buy for September so I don't mind waiting for a new line of CPU if they are worth it.

For the GPU, I'm looking for a powerful but really a silent one (the 1060 Strix version was recommended to me because of this) but if there a new GPUs that are equivalent in silence then this is good to me. I'll see if I can find some Strix versions of the GPUs you listed.

Also, I'm wondering about the Freesync / Gsync thing. Does it matter really ? And if it does, how do TVs deal with this ?
