anyone have a 4k monitor? Is it worth it?
was thinking of getting a 27 inch 4k

I think it depends on your equipment and the monitor. Gotta do research. Mine are 2k, QHD 2560 x 1440 at 144 Hz with g-sync. And they look nice. I used to have my pc connected to my 4k uhd tv and it was good also but of course that was a 50 inch so can't compare to a monitor. But check and see which one will give you the right bang for your buck and is best compatible with your equipment. don't wanna buy a 4k monitor and get 1080 graphics.

unrelated in a way, but i have a 500gb ssd in my system. just got an external recently, i believe 10 TB, too lazy to move the mouse. Anyways i'm looking thru my program files and trying to mess with the default program and i notice that i have like 20gb of memory left on the ssd. im like , i look and then notice that far cry 5 game was like nearly 100gb. i was like gotta see if i move it to the external or see what other large files i can move. i did get my space up to 40gb.

another unrelated comment but anyone use ace player? seems like whenever i open a file it opens ace player and then another window and blocks me from having access to the media controls.

The hell is this repack? Did I fukk up? I did see the repack thing and got it but it had some weird files and the setup one. Maybe I should've installed the game to my external or was there something with the repack that I missed?

Repacks are full games but compressed removing unnecessary files example may not include all the languages. Or the audio is compressed to a lower bitrate, or they include dlc packs pre installed

Example I downloaded a fifa 19 repack that only contained English audio which made the file like 35gb instead of like 70gb because I don’t care for all the Audio files

Only bad thing about repacks is they take longer to install

Fit girl repacks are the best you can choose what audio you want installed if you want intro videos etc.

Some people like the whole 80-90gb
But for downloading purposes I always do repacks except for old games

Like the crash bandicoot I downloaded for pc the full game was like 2 gigs so I went with that option

Just picked up a Gigabyte 1060 6GB card. Been out of the graphics card game for a few years, thought it was defective with the fans not spinning, I see now it's a design feature, they only function under heavy load.

You're good for another 10 years if you switch and or have Ryzen, AMD's cpu's take the brunt of the graphical damage...not a lot mind you, but enough so that I was getting away with a 2 gig on AC origins. Ryzen done made me a fangirl.

I have an old AMD Phenon II chip with 12gb of ram, it does alright. However the link that @MMA Mo posted with the new Ryzen chips coming will have me upgrading. My board is an old MSI 970-G series, SATA ports are half working, USB can be iffy at times. It's time for an upgrade.

Its only worth it if you're upgrading in general....the 4k isn't going to be noticed, also most games aren't even HDR, they done lied on Read Dead with that one. 4k at this point, is a resolution and not a performance based thing. No games are made in 4k format, they only display up to the 4k (3840) image...."4k" is just a cute naming motif made by smart ad men who just rounded up. If its a general upgrade, and cheap, I'd say go get it, if you're a gamer, look more into ghz monitors (144). Remember, at this point in life, you're buying a 4k tv/monitor for the resolution being picture perfect on wider screens.

Seeing how much power you would need to actually run a 4k game...I don't see it happening at all, or ever.

Nier was patched

the PC version got literally one patch, and that didn't fix shyt. the FAR mod was able to fix these issues hours after release, but was never officially patched into the game. it's a meme at this point, and muthafukkas are talking about it today because of the GOTY announcement

GTAV's legs mostly come from the online mode, that you can't play with a pirated copy. we see this tactic creeping into single player games, like Hitman 2, where an online connection is required to access some of the content

I'm not sure why you would downplay a number like 30-35%. that's a very significant number of people

and all that is part of the reason access to JBO is limited to members. The Coli knows some of this content could fukk with their ad money. it's also the reason for phrases like "Pass the Mustard", instead of saying "I need a link to download that album for free"

to be clear, I'm not saying that companies should choose to not fukk with PC because of piracy. there is still money to be made, if they have a good product. but I also understand the perspective that piracy is a big issue with PC gaming. it's why we get stuck with online-only single player games, and other crazy DRM. and yeah, it gets cracked anyway, and seems like a waste of time, but it keeps happening because they perceive piracy as a major issue. and again, dudes up in here, like "I just downloaded every new game ", does nothing to change that perception
