So. Cal
Gonna sell my current rig at the end of the year and use that plus income tax money to build an even more beastly joint. Might run me close to 4k :merchant:

They literally had two on the shelves.

Walked right in and walked right out with it.

Seeing as most 2080 Ti's were releasing today, I thought Micro Center would have been packed because after pre-orders are served, it's first come first serve.

I'm happy with the performance thus far on my upgrade. On AC Origins I can run the same settings(1440P, medium/high settings) and reach an average of 70fps with highs into the 90s depending on the rendering load. I'll have to do more extensive testing in more CPU demanding areas but thus far my CPU utilization is not pegged as it was before. I setup my old Hyper 212 cooler over and the temps while gaming only got up to 62c while on the stock cooler that thing was at least 10c higher.

I have a question brehs....i have a GTX 1080...I just purchased a acer predator xb272 monitor....I always get buyers remorse but I was looking online and saw some 4k freesync monitors cheaper than what I got mine which is only 1080p /w gsync....

The question is: would you guys stay with the g sync monitor @ 1080p or go 4k with the freesync to save money....I play overwatch

Well, freesync is AMD gpu based, so you won’t get the full benefit of a 4K freesync monitor. Plus, 4K over 60fps is difficult to do on a 1080, nevertheless some shytty AMD card. If I was you, I’d get a 1440p, 144hz g-sync.

1440p 165hz or 4K
Well, from all the benchmarks it looks like you can only get 60fps at 4K on a 2080ti. So, it’s just your preference as to if you would rather have 4K detail or 144hz smoothness. I have a 4K g-sync, 60hz and a 1440p 144hz, and I like both. Not all games run the same at 1440p, 144hz and 4K, 60hz. That’s why I like having the option. I will say this though, everybody that watches games on my setup has been more impressed with 144hz compared to 4K. It’s definitely a more noticeable difference, especially at 32”.

If money is not an issue, the clear bet would be to buy the ASUS 4K, 144hz, g-sync. That way you can put it at 1440p, 144hz, 4K, 60hz and 4K, 144hz in the future. That monitor also costs $2K at 27”. You can get 32” 1440p, 165hz and 4K 60hz for like $800 each.

Me personally, I’m waiting for the 4K, 144hz to be released at 32”. After playing games at 32”, I don’t want to go back to a 27”

So after 6 years of loyal service my laptop finally gave out. Motherboard is messed up and theres no way to fix it.

I'm looking to buy a gaming laptop (desktop doesnt work as I am moving around quite a lot).

I found this one to be the only one with nice enough specs that does not set me back way too much.

Acer Predator Nitro 5
  • Intel Core i5 7300U-2.3Ghz upto 2.8Ghz
  • RAM 8GB
  • SSD 256GB
  • VGA nVidia GTX1050Ti-4GB
  • Screen 15.6" FHD
  • Windows 10

As far as I can tell it should be fine. Im looking mostly to play NBA 2k19, Fifa 19, Total war Games, cities skyline and things like that.

It costs IDR 10,000,000 which should be aroun USD 700.-

I know an I7 processor would be better but I cant really afford it right now.

Am I overlooking something?

1050 not good. Look for a 1060 instead (though I image Turing based mobile GPU are coming out soon, so you may want to wait a few months).

Try to up your budget to $1K USD. I’d get something like this:
