Only time they were better than Nvidia was the 4000

That's blatanly false. 5000 series was better than Fermi, 400-500 series and the 290x was better than the 780 to the point where Nvidia had to bring the 780 Ti out.

Maxwell is where AMD fell behind and they're not even that far off, they just need to abandon the GCN architecture as they've squeezed as much as they could from it.

My Case review of the year

Can't lie, thermaltake has been killing the case game in 2017/2018. Best overall diverse market but they need work in their matx/itx cases especially itx cases. :ehh:

I'm liking everything Lian Li is doing on a regular consumer side instead of 300-500 dollar cases only a few of us can afford.

Fractal Design had a great year (2017) but I don't like the R6, it can't really fit radiators or double fan radiators like it should be designed for. I would of put my tr4 gen 2 in one but now I'm stuck dealing with this 900d again.

Cooler master cases are the most atrocious terrible airflow things I've seen all year :scust:

NZXT needs to create something that isn't so squarey for a chance. Worse improvement, pure laziness in other markets they are in too.

Corsair, 280X can't even fit anything bigger than their 1000 watt powersupplies, dummies giving their fans reasons to go to EVGA. Everything else is too expensive now especially their RGB lineup

Cougar are finally making cool cases in the small form factor and large, qbx, conquer, panzer (several editions), .

I need a case that can fit 3 480mm rads or 2 480mm rads w/ 1 360m rads that isn't the size of 900d. Lian Li cases (specifically the 011dx) can't fit triple 360mm rads without running into a problem. At least it holds more rads than the 08wx I own.

Recommended
- If you want a $120 and cheaper with good rgb - thermaltake View 32 or 22 rgb version w/ TG, Aerocool p7
- If you want airflow - go with Lian li 011-Air or fractal design meshify C
- If you want to really show case your build - go Lian Li 011Dx
- Custom watercooling - Lian li Air, 011Dx or R6 for simple watercooling, Thermaltake P5 TG, and P90
- Coolest designs - Cougar Conquer ($260-270) and, Thermaltake View 71 ($160-180)

Doesn't deserve a word but anyone should look at are the Deepcool Quadstellar, Cooler Master Cosmo C700P, Inwin D-Frame, Anidees AI crystal, Phanteks Enthoo Evolv/shift

Worse case of 2018 goes to - Corsair 1000D

I figured out how to re enable Relive DVR

When I updated the graphics driver a month ago for the RX 580 I noticed I lost the ability to use Radeon Relive's DVR function, which I personally find better than windows 10 dvr. So the fix was actually quite simple after reading up on it online. Its apparently a known bug that sometimes happens when you update the driver that it doesn't install all the relive functions, luckily there's a folder in the AMD folder where all the driver exe files are, and simply reinstalling fixed my issue. I tested it by using Relive to record my desktop the other day

AMD needs to perfect 2 things - scaling to allow multiple Gpu usage to give people the ability to game at 4K 60hz Ultra and Make affordable cards that are low-mid tier, they shouldn't bother with the 1080 ti/Titan market - they'd throw millions into a market people will always choose Nvidia in.

Sources are saying the 9700k will be 411 dollars and the 9900k 525 dollars that might just be msrp, not what retailers sell them for.

9900K + RTX 2080 Ti = 1725 dollars
8700K + GTX 1080 Ti = 1060 dollars

:mjlol:
If this cpu (9900k) can't boost/oc to 5.4-5.5, where we can see a 15% difference between the i7 8700K in 1080/1440p - if not, I'm done with intel. Overclocking cpu for gaming is dead.
---
Crazier point, if someone is looking to buy a new card and the 1080 ti doesn't go beneath 550-630 on average for all cards. I'd suggest people to buy the RTX 2080 for 750 (future drivers, expansion) oppose to the 2080 ti at 1200 or the 1080 ti at 650 with an older generation. But knowing how this is going to go down, we will see 600 during Christmas time.
