Life is all about trade offs. Very rarely do you get everything you want.Housing cost too much period. A community is not a city or a metropolitan area. Yes they're going to be portions of a particular metropolitan area that are more expensive than others and that's where the highest earners live but once again paying 60% of your income to have a roof over your head or else move to a city with exponentially less opportunities or amenities shouldn't be a normality that's accepted.
Some people trade having a home and a lawn for a higher income in a downtown area with more growth opportunities.
