In court the narratives don’t matter. He was charged with assault, and hasn’t even retired make any claims it was a mistake. No reason for the Jury to randomly assume his intentions without evidence to such.

The fact that he shot Meg. No one (who hasn't contradicted himself) said that Tori shot Meg. Everything else could be true with if no one said that Tori shot Meg then he didn't shoot Meg. Warning shots are illegal but it doesn't mean that he Shot Meg.
