They are being too reliant on flippy shyt. AJ can do it because he's pretty much flawless in execution. Even in TNA he rarely got hurt. In NJPW he had a couple injuries but other then that he's been fine. But everyone else needs to chill and leave it to the cruiserweights. Balor they are trying to push as an ace. No reason for him to take half those bumps. Seth just got back from a devastating injury and is a perfectly fine technical wrestler, no reason for him to do half the shyt he does every week.

There is NO reason at all for Enzo to be doing dives. He's a FIP. All he has to do is sell and wait for the hot tag to Cass. He's a promo/entertainer. Why he's doing dives is beyond me.

Dirt Sheet Dave said the elbow was probably intentional to cause a cut, but the cut was just more severe than what was intended. He also mentioned that this was way more stupid than blading. He said something about the insurance companies probably being the reason they no longer blade, but drawing blood this way is far more dangerous than blading.
What wrestler would agree to this? That's insane.

WWE Summerslam 2016

Show was ass outside of Cena/AJ and Brock/Orton. AJ/Cena did their MOVEZ thing, but unlike the KO matches, it actually made sense here. The story of the match and angle as a whole was AJ genuinely believing he's better than John Cena, and John Cena making it a point to do things outside of his normal range to prove that isn't the case. With AJ winning, it was the culmination of Cena's angle that started last year about the future running through him, which morphed into him actively lookiing for someone that can beat him. And then AJ did, and Cena gave the universal sports signal for retirement after he realized his time is up (AJ's time is now :troll:). There was some real storytelling going on, and the meta WWE storyline of "you aren't a star until you're a star here" just saw AJ Styles explicitly be better than John Cena and his career validated by the company.

On the other side, Brock/Orton was Brock returning to WWE to reclaim his territory after looking pretty whatever for most of the past 2 years. His star power and aura had been damaged by working with Seth and Dean, and then popping hot in UFC. So he comes back and utterly destroys Orton in savage fashion and it was awesome as fukk. Only Brock Lesnar can have a Brock Lesnar match. That's the draw of Brock. Not Brock having competitive matches with indie guys. I imagine the people who don't understand or didn't like the finish probably didn't understand or like the story in the Brock/Taker feud last year, which was some of the most epic and grand storytelling WWE had done in many many years, but it ultimately went nowhere.

That was super common back in the day. Usually with some knuckles to the eye brow. They were obviously intentional elbows, and it was obvious that it was to have a hardway cut for the finish. I don't even know why this is up for debate. It probably bled a little more than they expected, but that made for a better finish anyway. I can't believe there is any talk about it being a shoot in anyway. Have brehs never watched wrestling before?

I only watched Cena/Styles.

That was a great match.

It seems weird as hell to hear them referencing NJPW and hell.... dude name dropped Hirooki Goto.

Speaking of "dude", Ranallo's style of announcing as been sorely needed at the announce table.

I've been off the "Cena can't wrestle" bandwagon for a few years now (I think it's been a few years), Cena does the damn thing when he wants to.

It's going to be interesting to see where they take AJ from here, and how they treat Cena coming back from filming.

I can see Meltzer giving this 4.75/5. He might give it 5, cause hey.... who saw Cena losing CLEAN!?

Great shyt with John with the :why: after the top rope AA failed, AJ selling the forearm after the pin like he put every last bit of himself into hitting it.

Omega wins G1, Adam Cole wins ROH title, Finn wins Universal title, AJ beat Cena.

Bullet Club like a world power right now. :wow:

Not nearly as bad as some people claim it was, but definitely not as good as it could've been.

The Lesnar/Orton finish was OK w/ me... sets up more down the line for sure, as it's likely not the end of this feud. The fact that people are wondering if this was real or not is enough for me... how many times do we get that in any main event or storyline?

AJ/Cena was dope AF, and AJ goes over straight-up! The Cena post-match thing is interesting, although I'm sure it just sets him up to come back 'better than before'... AJ's next move should be towards the World title.

Ambrose/Ziggler... eh. It should result in a Ziggler turn of some sort, out of frustration for going into the match so adamant about winning and then not being able to.

Balor/Rollins was a great match, only marred by the fact everybody cared more about how the belt looks. And no doubt, that belt is the laziest shyt ever, but I cared about the match more. Hope they get more matches to keep turnin' it up.

Opening match was a good one... Enzo :lolbron: If Jericho had hit that codebreaker better, woulda been a great finish. Kinda fell flat due to the lack of impact, but good opener.

Reigns/Rusev, blah. Maybe woulda been better if it was earlier in the card, and if it didn't precede a similar finish in the very next match.

Charlotte/Sasha was a shocker for sure... good match, but the finish of course upset everybody. I'm really worried about Sasha's push... this is the third time in less than a year she's had to take time off. Don't want her to be the female Mr. Kennedy/Wade Barrett where she's always getting too banged up to be given a long-term run... or even worse than that, her body's already breaking down before she gets to become the star she should be.

All in all, not a terrible show, just wasn't a knockout, unless you count the Lesnar/Orton finish.

Enzo honestly is more suited as an old school manager because his wrestling needs work in the background. He is not athletic, has a basic moveset (:russ: at the cat who described it as a diva moveset), and he botches.
