:heh: I'm very tempted to open Pandora's box with that one.

The bottom line with me is, a lot of these "rootsy, down-to-earth, afrocentric" type girls behave in a manor just as scandalous as these "self-hating, weave wearing" girls. The only difference is how they style their hair and the clothes their wear.
Do it.

Im natural but I dont think Im better than ladies who relax or wear weaves. I wouldnt say that I've ever I thought I was better because I was natural, but when I first stopped relaxing my hair I would try to convince a lot of ladies that I knew who still relaxed to stop too. I still think that bw shouldn't relax their hair; its no good for us. But its their scalp and hair, not mine so its their choice.

Anyway I agree with you, there are so many people that think just because you no longer relax it means you're some awakened god and thats not necessarily true. There are some women who use them stopping their use of relaxers as a growth and evolution of themselves and do feel "awakened" which is beautiful, but there are also the same amount of women who do it for other reasons (the look, health, etc). Its not always that deep.

now count how many black women rock their hair like this in 2014? :mjlol: if this chick was born in the 80s, she'd be like the rest of y'all with indian hair knitted into your scalp.

I know plenty and the number continues to grow...

i don't like short hair because it's short. why do i want a woman with shorter hair than my own? why are black men the only group chastised for wanting their woman to have lengthy hair?

Oh so you have a problem with these?:

my problem with this logic is the fallout will always rest on the black mans door. black women can do whatever to their scalp, but when guys are looking at them like  in between weaves/perms, we are the ones labeled as self hating. or when black women decide that after a lifetime of weave/perm, i'm going to now cut it all off and go natural. once again, black women get to say black men hate themselves cus they don't find it attractive. it's like black women win no matter what their choices are, there's absolutely no accountability.

a biracial, two mixed chicks, and a dark skinned black woman who probably isn't even american -- hey, you're doing better :ehh:

i don't mind those hairstyles if they can be pulled off. the women i'm talking about dont have that hair texture to make that style work. or it only looks nice for that day, then after they sleep on it, it's completely ruined.

Marcuz, I'll tell you the problem because it's like you STILL don't get it. You keep talking about not finding older who big chop attractive or cut it all of...what do you suppose they do ?!

With ALL you know about black history hasn't it dawned on you yet THESE WOMEN DIDN'T PERM THEIR OWN HAIR IN THE FIRST PLACE ?!

These women you keep shytting on their MOTHERS permed their hair. NOT THEM! These chicks have been getting relaxers since they were about 5.... how is that their fault :heh:

so when they reach 25 and wanna take control of their hair you 'don't find it attractive' and it's their fault

you're not making sense. These black women aren't at fault for having permed hair, their own mums put that shyt on their head :dahell:

Stop this 'blame black women for everything' shyt.

How do I force someone to stop using a relaxer? If they dont want to, what can I do? Also I posted this in another recent topic, but how long will it take black men to stop saying that you guys dont see it enough? Natural hair has been a "movement" for a while, and you guys still arent seeing natural ladies anywhere?

So your problem really isn't with short hair then?

i see 1-2 healthy natural hair style for about every 50 weaves and fried perms and braid extentions :yeshrug:

i know you can't change anyones opinion on this hair stuff, it's almost like a religion; but i dont have to pretend to accept it.

you're mixing in two different types of hair styles, those aren't from "the big chop"
IpL4s4C.jpg

this is the short hair styles im talking about. t
no. it's with the hair texture :snoop:

it is also about texture. most black women aren't biracial and can't pull off a rihanna/halle berry look.
