Do it.
Im natural but I dont think Im better than ladies who relax or wear weaves. I wouldnt say that I've ever I thought I was better because I was natural, but when I first stopped relaxing my hair I would try to convince a lot of ladies that I knew who still relaxed to stop too. I still think that bw shouldn't relax their hair; its no good for us. But its their scalp and hair, not mine so its their choice.
Anyway I agree with you, there are so many people that think just because you no longer relax it means you're some awakened god and thats not necessarily true. There are some women who use them stopping their use of relaxers as a growth and evolution of themselves and do feel "awakened" which is beautiful, but there are also the same amount of women who do it for other reasons (the look, health, etc). Its not always that deep.
Ok, from my personal experiences, the girls I know that are natural carry themselves like they are prestigious women. They talk about being classy and they try their hardest to distance themselves from "ghetto" things (Hip-Hop, WSHH, etc..). I've even had a girl tell me to turn off the music in MY CAR because she heard the N-word...meanwhile, her favourite song is Climax by Usher. Whilst they do this, they look down on the girls that wear weaves and call them "self haters" and scoff at their interactions with men and call them promiscuous.
I don't mind people talking the talk, as long as they're actually about it but after going to a few house parties with them and playing games like "I never" and "Truth or Dare", I learned that a lot them behave in the exact same way that the "self hating" girls do. Sleeping around, cheating on their boyfriend, entertaining men that have girlfriends and all that other scandalous shyt. Then when I speak to them outside of those settings, they maintain their hypocritical stance and say things like "At least people don't know our business, those other girls don't know how to be discrete and that's why they're beneath us". All of this while maintaining a false pride and value in their hair and using as some false badge of honour.
I've tried to keep it brief but this is just a small reason as to why how a girl styles her hair (within reason) means nothing to me. If I used a girls hair as a way of judging her, I'd fall into the trap that a lot of these guys fall into which results in wifing up girls with less than desirable morals.
