Brehs I shot a wedding yesterday let me tell you it was the hardest thing I've ever done, I was on my feet for like 12 hours, everything was inside in a darkly lot cavern , Didn't even have time to eat, my hand is killing me a now I have like almost 3000 images to sort through.

Never doing this again

A couple at my church photographer cancelled on them literally a few days before because of an emergency. So they asked me I should have said no

What lens(es) did you use? I was asked to do 2 weddings, I turned down both. I got rid of my canon zoom 2.8lens when I switched to fuji, and I also didn't wanna work that long.

I just got the fuji 55-200mm lens f/3.5-4.8, so I can now use that bad boy. I think I will start looking to do weddings now. Eventually I will get one with a 2.8, I'd rather natural light for candids.

I've been pushing my 24mm 1.4 to the limit at parties, shyt is great for big group photos. I just be having to crop pics a lot when it comes to candids because the lens is so wide.

I got a baby shower coming up from a returning client, so I will rock that out. I got a another comedy show to shoot a week after.

I'm an illustrator also, so technically i guess i did go to school for this. but i did half a semester of film photography
didnt learn no digital shyt or lighting techniques.

I did video work for a wedding back in October. I one manned it too. It wasn't too bad. The bride included me in the dinner list and they had an open bar so yah boy was eating



Worst part was when it came to getting her the footage. I gave her the digital files via Google Drive, 1080p and crispy... But she needed a DVD. Which was fine, I burned a disc, but it didn't work with their DVD players.



I'm like why you still using DVD players



So I had to look up how to put the shyt in a format that would work on her old ass shyt.

man the ceremony wasn't till 8pm, and i was shooting them since 12pm, and i woke up late i didn't eat breakfest, i went the whole day with nothing, no water, didn't even have time to pee

like i said screw this, i dont even care if i have a kid one day and the photography cancels the day before I aint doing this again

Was the venue that expensive that they had to get it that late? I'm assuming the reception was at the same place right?

they had the venue for like two weeks it was an old theater type place, dark as hell

this is the place they had it from google, except it was even darker than that yesterday, im like only me would agree to shoot a wedding and my first wedding i shoot is in some dark ass place

Anyone used Capture One before? If so, can you set your file sizes for your images while exporting like on Lightroom?

I had an old version that they gave away for free somewhere on a harddrive. I tried it, nothing wrong with it, just used to Lightroom. I know of a couple photographers that swear by it.

I don't wanna do any weddings but i think that's like the only place to really earn decent money if you're not well connected.
I was asked to do one. I see venue pic posted above too. That's the exact type of bullshyt people try to have you shoot in.

man the worst part is i had to go to some dungy basement to shoot after the ceremony and guess what there were no lights, couldnt even focus, luckily i had one of those cheap ass led lights from china videographers use so i had to hold it in one hand and shoot with the other

probably could use one of them cheap ring flashes that does continuous light off Amazon.

Those are some stills I grabbed from the video I took at the wedding I did in October. She was asking me if I had took pics and I was like nah, this is all from video. Said that the photographer contract said they wouldn't deliver her images for 6 weeks.



For all the brehs thinking about doing weddings, my advice would be to not do it solo, and make sure you taxing on that price cause it's a lot of work and a ton of uncontrollable factors that come into play that can throw a wrench in the shots you want to get.

I don't blame the photographer for that 6 weeks.

It takes forever I took almost 3,000 photos. And I've gone threw like 500 and chose like 150 so far, it's a tesiois long ass process. I'm just going to use these Mastin labs presets I have and apply and sync
