Long Exposure
Wasn't sure if that last one I used a 10 stop or 6 stop filter on it,
Lowered the ISO to Lo10
Placed the camera in bulb mode (on a tripod)
Place the lens to manual focus and set to infiniti, switched the camera to manual focus
Hit the switch on my shutter release cable,
Browse FB, maybe strike up a conversation with strangers on the beach, then 2 or 3 minutes later I release the cable
and voila, long exposure....

Now if I wanted to show the movement of the water....you want it to be a little faster than a second, with a low nd filter
10 stop damn!

With this one did you adjust the split toning? I'm trying to upp my editing skills and I'm guessing you added a blue/orange split tone?
Nah, I kind of messed the blue and aqua ?(i think that's the slider above the blue :pachaha:) Adjusted the luminance on those two colors to get the sky a little darker and more saturated. But the orange is coming from the all the lights. I don't really mess with split toning.

how do y'all go about asking people to take their pictures? or do you?

I was walking on the beach and saw this girl smoking a cig by this store... everythign about her and the way she was standing against this colorful wall, was just perfect.. she wasn't half naked or in a bikini or even a swimsuit.. but i felt like such a creep to walk up like "hey can i take your picture" no cards or nothing explaining how i'm a photographer (rookie) and not just some crazy nikka collecting pics of strange women
Usually when I take people pics its at like some kind of festival or event. After you do it for a while you learn to kind of read people and see who's going to be cool or not cool about the shyt. So far I haven't had any problem. A bunch of us did get chased by a high homeless man though :dead:. Apparently we were on his turf. :heh:. Forgot that shyt happened until now. But yeah, for the most part I don't that shyt like shoving my camera in somebody's face. I'll just ask nicely. Alot of people feel flattered. Sometime you can just read people and pull your camera up to take a shot and they pose and chunk the dueces.

I'm finding it difficult to get the manual focus right on this Rokinon 12mm Wide angle need more practice with it.
what are you trying to shoot with the super wide? you could try zone focusing if your eye isnt good. your camera should have a focus confimation light in the view finder

A thing i like doing is taking pics of the area around people first, if they dont leave by the time i make a loop around then 9 times outta 10 they dont care about me taking a pic, never had anyone say anything outside of can i send them the shot @The Devil's Advocate
