I never heard of sea glass before. Looks dope.
Essentially it's garbage and glass that sits in the Long Island Sound that is between Conneticut and Long Island. Sit's in the bay and ocean for years and eventually washes ashore. A lot of it is beach bottles, like the green pieces I assume are hienikens, the blue is sky vodka, the purple, I got no clue, the white is probably smirnoff ice bottles, my theories could be way off though.

They look cool when matched with mystical crystal balls too

Know this girl that collects Sea Glass on the North Shore, who sends it to me on the South Shore because we don't get any by me, I got addicted to stacking this summer

Long Exposure
Wasn't sure if that last one I used a 10 stop or 6 stop filter on it,
Lowered the ISO to Lo10
Placed the camera in bulb mode (on a tripod)
Place the lens to manual focus and set to infiniti, switched the camera to manual focus
Hit the switch on my shutter release cable,
Browse FB, maybe strike up a conversation with strangers on the beach, then 2 or 3 minutes later I release the cable
and voila, long exposure....

Now if I wanted to show the movement of the water....you want it to be a little faster than a second, with a low nd filter

Better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven
how do y'all go about asking people to take their pictures? or do you?

I was walking on the beach and saw this girl smoking a cig by this store... everythign about her and the way she was standing against this colorful wall, was just perfect.. she wasn't half naked or in a bikini or even a swimsuit.. but i felt like such a creep to walk up like "hey can i take your picture" no cards or nothing explaining how i'm a photographer (rookie) and not just some crazy nikka collecting pics of strange women

Depends on the environment, I started in the import/tuner industry at car shows, I would go and shoot the models and cars and then ask some of the female showgoers if I can take a pic of them, if they said yes, great, if they said no, respect it and move on. Really it depends on the situation, for what you mentioned I would say hi, tell her you are practicing photography, does she mind if you take a pic of her? Hit some events in your area to practice on approach, I used to hit the fairs and festival and ask people working the booths if I can get a pic of them.

If you are looking to get into portrait photography, check out ModelMayhem.com for new models in your area available for trade/practice, maybe a local college as well.

You tape them on a wall or do you hang them? Is paper good for hanging?

you can use tape. just make sure the tape doesnt fukk up your paint. there's also fold up adjustable stands you can hang the papers on.

95% of the time i dont ask. i just take the shot. :manny: i've only had one person go "you gotta delete that" and i didnt cuz i give no fukks, its not against the law, and i'm a dikk. It's not like i'm bruce gilden rlling up on people with a big ass flash in broad day light :russ:
there are a few ways to take a mufukkas pic without them knowing...
Now if you want them to pose, just ask... the more you ask, the less fukks you will give if you ask enough.
