did you take these?

what i'm about to say isn't a diss.. but i just got my camera and i'm not sure of all the technical terms

but how do you get your shots to look not so clear... what i mean is, when i take photos, they are super HD.. to the point it almost looks too real/fake to me. I kinda of want them a little softer and more natural like yours

is that more the way you shoot, or the way you edit?

also for everyone... i'm a newbie with my camera.. got a Nikon D5300. i'm trying to find some good people to follow on Youtube for shooting and editing.. at his point i love photography, i know what a great shot looks like, i can set up a good shot.. but after that, i'm dead in the water. i mean i don't even know how to manually do what i want. i just adjust the settings the cam gives me like "night party, day landscapes, portrait"

i'm trying to get all y'alls level... some of these shots are fukking amazing :wow:

What you mean "did you take these?"

Yes i took them, everyone in here takes the photos they post if im not mistaken, why do you think i didnt? :mjcry:

No it isnt the way i edit it's the type of camera/lens i use that make them look like that, i havent seen your photos so i cant tell you exactly how to fix your issue

I have no training with cameras or editing. as a matter of fact, I haven't edited a single one of these photos i'm about to upload. :snoop: They are all shot in Jpeg mode :snoop: using the cameras presets :snoop:

so far, reading this thread, i've learned I need to fool around with this manual mode, shoot in raw and edit it after.. do y'all even shoot/save the jpeg version or both?

Nikon D5300
18-55mm VR2 lens
55-200mm VR2 lens

I've only been doing this a few months. So I'll try to find my 15 best photos so far. Most are from Jamaica or Ireland. I'm trying to showcase a mix of different types of photos because I'd really like some critique here. No hurt feelings, I really am reading this thread from page 1 (on 31 now), taking notes, and trying to teach myself how and what to shoot for my trip to brazil in 3 weeks

r

Cop the 35mm 1.8 G. Its not worth the effort using the stock lenses. Also look into photoshop and light room for photo editing.
