ORLANDO, Fla. - Offensive tackle Jean Delance (North Mesquite, Tex.) still plans to announce his college choice Saturday at the Under Armour All-American Game.

Michigan, LSU and Texas are the finalists.

The Crystal Ball reads 50-percent for Texas, 20-percent for Texas A&M, 15-percent for Michigan, 10-percent for Oklahoma and five-percent for Alabama.

Delance still plans to make his final choice New Year's Eve night when he meets with his mother and grandmother in their hotel room on the day they arrive in Florida.

"That's the main goal," Delance said. "To see how I'm feeling from there. She's going to put all her pebbles on the table and I'm going put all of them. We are going to duke it out and see what's best for me."

Delance shared his latest thoughts on his finalists heading into his choice.

LSU: "(Tigers offensive line) coach (Jeff) Grimes need help at the offensive tackle position. He said there's an immediate chance to come in and start at that left tackle spot."

Michigan: "Coach (Jim) Harbaugh. They treat me like family. They already have that No. 1 class. They have that set up. It's what they are going to need. They're still three or four four-star guys on the board that they are going to get that I know of. So I mean I just trust it's going to be a No. 1 class and they are going to be back on top next year (and be a) playoff team."

Texas: "Coach (Charlie) Strong, we have a good relationship. My mom likes him. It's not too far from home. At the end of the day you still have to do what's best for me. I have a great relationship the whole staff. You have to foresee it at UT. That's all I have to say. I talk to (Malik Jefferson) all the time especially since he's on break. We just hang out and chill. We have a great relationship."

What will he base his decision on?

"Distance is not a matter. It's playing time. Family-oriented environment and a great relationship (for that staff) with my mom and grandma," Delance said.

The four-star recruit is ranked as the nation's No. 10 offensive tackle and the No. 15 prospect in Texas in the 2016 class by 247Sports.com Composite Rankings.

distance matters to mom&grandma hopefully Jean wins out most feel its LSU Mich battle even tho Texas still lurks

LSU insider posted this on Jean Delance
Wanted to hop in and share what I got from an LSU source. Word is that distance is something LSU fears they won't be able to overcome, so I assumed that meant Michigan was in same boat. His grandma has been sick and his mom would prefer he stay closer to home.

But we see kids leave home all the time. And Michigan has done a tremendous job selling him on the program. I will catch up with him for more closer to his decision. But it's certainly a situation I think could go in a number of directions. Meaning I see each team making a strong case.

Michigan has the nation’s No. 3 recruiting class according to the 247Sports Rankings and from my vantage point the Wolverines are nowhere near done with this recruiting class.

One of the Wolverines top targets down the stretch is Top100 CB David Long. (Photo: 247Sports)
In fact, the finish could be the most exciting part yet.

Come National Signing Day, Michigan’s class could have some change to it, with several more blue-chippers added.
• My 247Sports Crystal Ball remains Michigan for the nation’s No. 1 recruit Rashan Gary, and I haven’t heard anything different regarding the five-star from Paramus (N.J.) Catholic. I do believe Ole Miss is a contender and USC could be viewed as a darkhorse.

• A source told me Michigan could very well end up signing Top100 cornerback David Long. The former Stanford commit has been recruited in a similar fashion as Gary and Jean Delance, an absolutely coveted target by Jim Harbaugh and his staff. Washington is also in the top two but confidence is high around the Ann Arbor program for the U.S. Army All-American.

• Another Top100 recruit in Lavert Hill is a lock-down cornerback the Wolverines need in the 2016 cycle. He has seemed like a lock for Michigan for awhile. Things appeared to have gotten interesting over the last month but I still believe Hill ends up at Michigan.

• I nearly wavered on my 247Sports Crystal Ball forecast in favor of Michigan for Top247 receiver Dylan Crawford, but now I’m glad I didn’t with Oregon taking another receiver and basically filling up at the position. They looked like the biggest threat to the Wolverines for the U.S. Army All-American, but now I’m told it’s looking really good for Michigan again.

• Wolverine247 insider Steve Lorenz made a 247Sports Crystal Ball forecast in favor of Michigan on Tuesday morning for Top100 offensive tackle Jean Delance. I’m not there yet but I could easily see it as I’ve been reporting that since his December visit Michigan was at worst in the top two. I still think a couple things need to be ironed out before he’s a Wolverine.

• I’m told it’s 50/50 on where Michigan stands with four-star defensive end Levi Onwuzurike at this point, a prospect the Wolverines would certainly make room for.

• Michigan is in the mix to get Top100 athlete Jordan Fuller on campus either the weekend of Jan. 15 or Jan. 29. Looks like Penn State will get the Jan. 22 visit. Notre Dame got him in mid-December. Ohio State is the other contender. I’ve always had the Wolverines as a top school, but after that my 247Sports Crystal Ball is foggy. Fuller wants to play cornerback on the next level.

• It’s clear Michigan is in the top two for Top247 linebacker Jonathan Jones. My 247Sports Crystal Ball has changed some for the Orlando (Fla.) Oak Ridge standout. I was originally on Michigan, flipped to Notre Dame during his official to South Bend and ended up going back to the Wolverines. While I’m currently predicting Michigan, I could easily see Jones ending up in South Bend. It’s that close. He thought about committing to ND on his visit.

• Obviously there are a pair of talented tight ends on the board in Jacob Mathis and Chase Allen. I thought Michigan moved into the lead for Mathis when they had him on campus during the fall but things have slowed down on that front. Allen is expected to official in January as Michigan competes with Missouri and Florida State among others,

If Michigan finishes with a lot of these names a few things would really stand out.

• Michigan would land three of the Midwest’s best in Ben Bredeson, Brandon Peters and perhaps Lavert Hill.

• The Wolverines have a chance to land six of the top eight in New Jersey if Gary and Fuller join.

• Michigan can land three of Texas’s best with Jordan Elliott already committed and possibly Delance and Onwuzurike joining.

• They could land two of California’s top prospects in Long and Crawford.

• Summing it all up with commits also coming from Florida, Alabama, Massachusetts, Colorado and Maryland, it’s truly a national class.

Some new information has come to light, and I am going to put in a 247Sports Crystal Ball for Top100 offensive tackle Jean Delance to Michigan.

All Crystal Ball Predictions

Talked to a source close to his recruitment on Tuesday morning that informed me Delance gave some very strong indications that he plans to choose the Wolverines during the Under Armour All-American game on Sunday.

As Steve Wiltfong and others have reported recently, Texas appears to be on the outside looking in with LSU and Michigan the two programs both of those programs believe he may be favoring. While there may be a pull to keep Delance closer to home by his family, we're told that his personal desire is to play for Tim Drevno, Jim Harbaugh and the Wolverines.

One note to regard with his commitment is that he told 247Sports National Analyst Ryan Bartow his plan to eventually make a final decision on Sunday with his mother.

"That's the main goal," Delance said. "To see how I'm feeling from there. She's going to put all her pebbles on the table and I'm going put all of them. We are going to duke it out and see what's best for me."

While people inevitably overreact to every word, letter and punctuation in recruiting interviews, the fact that Delance's mom is involved in his decision and that the vibe is that she prefer him stay close to home means that final conversation could be meaningful. However, confidence is rising that the Wolverines will be the choice.

Gotta get the family on board respect his wishes:usure:

ORLANDO, FL ---- With National Signing Day a little over one month away, the nation's #1 overall recruit in five-star defensive lineman Rashan Gary is in the process of narrowing things down, but also is looking to compete against the best at this week's Under Armour All-American game.

"It was good," Gary said about his first day of practice. "I've been out of football for a while so I'm just getting back into it. I'm a little heavier than I was at the end of the season in November, so I gotta do what I gotta do to work through that. Up home in New Jersey it's about 40 degrees too and it's a lot hotter here, but I like that going against the best."

Gary has already officially visited Michigan, Ole Miss, Auburn. One of his final two officials is already set, with a trio of programs vying for the final one at this juncture.

"USC is set on January 15th," he said. "LSU, Clemson, Georgia are in it for the last one. I have no idea which one it will be right now. I still talk to Coach Orgeron at LSU quite a bit and have been building that relationship. They're known for always having a strong defensive line. They've put out a lot of NFL players there."

One other unofficial visit that may still be on the docket is a return visit to Michigan. The visit was first reported as a possibility two months ago by 247Sports analysts Kipp Adams and Keith Niebuhr, who were told by Jennifer Coney (Gary's mom) that a family trip to Michigan was a distinct possibility. Gary has been to Ann Arbor three times and would like to see things from a friend's point of view.

"I have to talk to Kareem Walker about coming up," he said. "He's going to enroll early so I'd like to come up and see him and hang out with him there. I'd see him and Devin Bush. Kareem Walker is my boy. I've faced him every year on our schedule. He's like my best friend. He's not putting any pressure on me or anything. He says to go where I want to go so he just wants me to pick the best school for me."

All Crystal Ball Predictions

With the final stretch approaching, many are wondering what way Gary is potentially leaning. However, the five-star is keeping things close to the vest as he continues to figure out where he will choose and what school best fits the criteria he and his family have laid out.

"I don't have a top three right now," he said. "I'm planning to commit on National Signing Day. Comfortability for my family is really big for me (as far as what I'm looking for). I want to be at a place my mom can walk around and be safe. Food is big because I like to eat. Academics are where I'll eventually be able to support myself and my family, so that's a really big one for us too."

Gary went more in-depth on Michigan, Auburn and Ole Miss, three programs that have been heavily tied to him since the beginning of his recruitment:

Michigan: "Of course my old head coach being there is good. I know a lot of guys there like Juwann (Bushell-Beatty), so if I went there I'd be surrounded by a lot of familiar faces. I guess you could really say it's a big time family environment. I see a lot of guys going to Michigan from New Jersey, but I have to be selfish and make the best decision for me, so it doesn't really help or hurt them in my mind. Coach Harbaugh is a different guy. He has a lot of energy. He gets me ready just when I talk to him. The Don Brown hire was a big one. They say he's the best at what he does."

Auburn: "I went there for the Iron Bowl. The fans there are crazy. They had fans there in the crowd with posters of me. It's a place I feel like I could get developed and where my family would feel comfortable."

Ole Miss: "The coaches at Ole Miss stand out. I have a great relationship with pretty much every coach on their staff. Having your family walk around and being there was cool. They definitely have a family environment. They tell me I could come in my freshman year, learn the playbook and see the field either inside or outside on the defensive line. Robert Nkemdiche is someone I would say I model my game after, and they say I could be a better player for them there. Greg (Little) is my boy too. We talk a lot via text messages and he's in my ear a lot."

Gary knows he's going Blue. Homie is just getting these free vacations with his mom in and getting to taste different times of food. That boy is not going to USC. He just wants to see those LA thots one time and gets moms a free trip.

So the 247 Texas mods are saying some things that could make them look extremely stupid. One saying Jordan Elliot is still a silent to them:mjlol:

Some already picked up on mom's response to the idea that Elliott would visit and was open to Texas still, but I talked with her a bit more:

On his decision: "Please be assured that the decision for Jordan to commit to Michigan was a joint decision and one we made together. We have a really great relationship with the Michigan coaches. We are 100% Michigan.

On Jordan's relationship with Bryan Mone: "Bryan is a great kid. Jordan talks about playing with him all of the time."

If you are worried about this kid here
Mom implied heavily that Elliott's verbal commitments to Baylor and Houston were made without her approval as well.

Steve Lorenz on Delance
Adding onto this as I gather more:

I'm aware that there are others in the recruiting world that believe Delance will commit to UT.

1. This is not what Michigan has believed will happen. I believe this is because Delance is the person in his camp they have kept most contact with, although they've worked both mom and grandma for months as well. The belief on their end for the last month or so is that it would be LSU or Michigan, not Texas.

2. I believe this information may be coming from someone in his camp who would like him to commit to Texas.

My prediction is based off of things directly tied to Delance himself. I'll share what I know regardless of how this turns out.

It's like when you're up by 14 with five minutes left but the other team has Aaron Rodgers and anything can happen.
