I hope he stays but I'm glad he rehabilitated his image and may have NFL suitors.

Doug Mallory will be at the top of the list if Wink leaves
Yeah, if they save Lynn from
full
, he's going to flip it for a college HC or NFL DC job. Which is fine but I'd rather not play musical DC every to every other off-season.

Mallory knows Michigan's amoeba, so there shouldn't be any transition costs like last off-season. He's actually called plays before although it was over a decade ago. Which honestly isn't that different than Joe Cullen, who was the top target last off-season.

Lynn will go to PSU he's an alum. I'm good with Mallory he was a big part in designing the pass coverages for 3 years plus it won't stray too far off with what we're doing

Whats Mallory's connection to this defense?
The former Michigan defensive back was a defensive analyst in Ann Arbor from 2021-2023 and was a highly valued member of that championship staff when it came to coverage variations and offensive attack strategies (against Michigan). One of his most talked about contributions was in the national championship game where Michigan was said to have as many as 30 coverage variations on the back end. Sources inside the program credited Mallory with many (all?) of those schemes. Quarterbacks and receivers late in that championship season often commented that Michigan came with looks they hadn't prepared for… well, here is the back-end guy that was coming up with a lot of those looks.
