PJ's to the Burbs
Lets hope he's gonna be there a while and we could build a foundation that lasts a few years well. Charles retiring got me reminiscing about how many studs we used to have on D Ty Law, Ian Gold, Irons, Sam Sword, Larry Foote, David Harris, Hobson , Woodley, Dhani we stayed with talent on that side. I'm hopin them days return

Offensive tackle Jean Delance (North Mesquite, Tex.) said he's down to LSU, Michigan and Texas.

Delance still plans to announce his college choice January 2 at the Under Armour All-American Game in Orlando, Florida.

The Crystal Ball reads 59-percent for Texas, 24-percent for Texas A&M, 12-percent for Oklahoma and six-percent for Alabama.

Delance officially visited LSU December 5 and Michigan a weekend later.

He said it's "up in the air" if he will take any other official visits following his verbal commit.

He said he plans to make his college coach December 31, two days before announcing it publicly.

"When my mom arrives in Florida I'll talk it over with her one more time before I make it," Delance said. "I'll base my decision on playing time, the degree you can get, how the coach is close to my family especially my mom and grandma. And how the position coach has recruited me."

Delance broke down his thoughts on his finalists.

LSU: "Coach (Les) Miles is down-to-earth. He's a nice guy. So is the Offensive Line coach (Jeff Grimes). They need depth on the offensive line. They have some great running backs and wide receivers. They return a lot. It's a phenomenal choice. Why not? It's the best time to go. They are going to compete for a National Championship and I'll get to compete for a spot and playing time. Go play big-time SEC ball."

Michigan: "The best part of the visit was definitely coach (Jim) Harbaugh. He's going to have the best recruiting class they've had in a while. They had a 9-3 season and are bowl eligible. They are going to be good the next four or five years. They have some great people there. I loved it up there. I took in a lot there. I loved watching them practice. It's so much different than a high school practice. They go hard every rep. They lose a lot of upperclassmen. They have some good commits coming in and they told me they need me to help them. Coach Harbaugh gave me a great message. He said if I come there he won't mess it up for me. He said all my dreams will come true. He said I can get a top-notch degree and Michigan is the place to be."

Texas: "I couldn't leave out my home state. I believe in them. They tell me they will be back on top soon. It's not too far away from home. They tell me why do I need to go way across the country to play? They play a lot of true freshmen. The numbers don't lie."

The four-star recruit is ranked as the nation's No. 10 offensive tackle and the No. 15 prospect in Texas in the 2016 class by 247Sports.com Composite Rankings.

Put some feelers out today regarding potentially putting in a Crystal Ball prediction for Jean Delance to Michigan......the response I got is that Michigan feels good about their chances of Delance eventually committing, but that a prediction to Michigan would be "an educated guess".

My opinion right now: I think Michigan leads, but this is one they're going to continue to put the full court press on in order to finish the job. I am getting closer to putting the prediction in, but I am going to wait until I get some more concrete feedback on Michigan's chances.

I also do not get the impression that Texas is much of a factor here. They fired their OL coach, who Delance had a great relationship with, and as you can tell with the OC hiring fiasco, those within the program do not seem to be on the same page right now. Still believe it will either be LSU or Michigan.

I think Charlie Strong is done after this year. He woulda been done now but UT didn't want to appear outwardly racist. The recruits know that

Scott Quiet But Still Solid
1h
Brandon Brown, Staff Writer
Michigan officially announced the hiring of new defensive coordinator Don Brown Monday afternoon and several commits and targets chimed in once they heard the news. Upper Marlboro (Md.) Riverdale Baptist cornerback Sir Patrick Scott gave his thoughts on the hire.

“Unfortunately I haven’t heard from the staff about the new coach,” Scott said. “I know nothing about him so I guess I’ll have to do my own research on his résumé to see how good everyone says he is.”

Scott has been committed since Aug. 2 and despite infrequent contact, remains solid to Michigan.
Scott committed to Michigan back in August and since then has kept a low profile. The 6-1, 170-pound corner isn’t talking to any schools about his recruitment, even the coaches at his future school. He still feels great about playing at Michigan though.

“I haven’t talked to anyone from Michigan really,” Scott said. “Nothing is rocky, I Just don't really keep in contact. I still feel good about it being committed and I don't plan on going anywhere.”

The three-star defensive back is one of 23 prospects committed to the Wolverines in 2016 and he’s very excited about some of the recent additions to the class.

“We are making a lot of moves,” he said. “A lot of talent is coming through Michigan. I can't wait to hit the field with these guys. There’s a bright future ahead here.”

There are a lot of connected prospects among Michigan’s class. There are teammates committed from Pembroke Pines (Fla.) Flanagan, Camden (N.J.) High School, and Prattville (Ala.) High School. Several other prospects from New Jersey are in the fold and a trio of prospects from Indiana are familiar with each other and committed as well. Scott doesn’t really have a natural connection with any particular pledge, but he still feels good about the group he’s a part of.

“Me and the commits are all cool,” Scott said. “We all started a group chat a little while ago so everyone keeps in touch on a consistent basis. “I really haven't developed that good of a relationship with any of them specifically unfortunately, but it’s bound to happen once we are all together on campus though.”

Scott wasn’t overly close with former defensive coordinator D.J. Durkin so he’s fine with Durkin heading off to Maryland and is now excited to get to know Brown. The staff recruited Scott as a cornerback and he’s looking forward to getting back to Ann Arbor in the future. Even though the contact hasn’t been regular, Scott isn’t planning to look around.

“The coaches haven't discussed any possible dates for me to come back yet,” he said. “I have no plan of visiting any other schools or looking around.”
Possible greyshirt or being fazed out for Hill&Long I hate it for the kids tho

Spoke to some folks at Boston College about the hire.

Obviously everyone is saying the same thing, great hire, I won't bore you there (sorry if I already did).

Three things stood out.

First, Brown is a player's coach. He'll battle for his guys. He'll even argue with the head coach regarding his guys. His players love playing for him.

Second, he blitzes from all over and the beauty of it, the offense has no idea where it's coming from presnap. That's what separates him as a coach. He knows how to disguise and dial up pressure. Loves blitzing.

Third, his memory is second to none. A lot of coaches write notes during the game to give them an idea of what play to call during different down and distance, Brown always knows what he's going to call whether it's 3rd and 8, or 4th and 2. With that being said, it was added he typically has a great feel for the other team's offense allowing him to get the play call in quickly and efficiently.

Over 60-years old, Brown likely won't get a shot to be a head coach although I'm told he has all the intangibles.
