What if he ends up at Michigan? :lolbron:

I know it's damn near impossible, but if anyone can get this kids head screwed on right, and vet him into the league, it's Harbauce. :shaq:
highly doubt Michigan is interested in this headcase if he couldn't handle Mora Jr. he wouldn't last 2 hours with Hargawd:mjlol:

Army All-American Elliott talks top schools

Texas A&M Newsletter

Houston, Texas - Houston Westside (TX) DT Jordan Elliott will announce his final commitment at the U.S. Army All-American Bowl in January. However, the four-star defender, who received his official jersey this afternoon, has a current leader for his services heading into the home stretch of his recruitment.

(Photo: 247Sports)
“For me, it’s all about relationships and how these coaches talk with me and communicate with me on a daily basis, and Michigan has been that team,” Elliott said. “There’s no set list. It’s just about the people who communicate with me on a daily basis and who I feel comfortable with at that school and around that school. Michigan, Texas, Baylor...It’s not a set list like I said but those are a few schools that are at the top.”

He added, “It’s going to be a tough decision to make but I feel like I will make the right one. I love all those coaches.”

The Top247 prospect broke to 247Sports on Saturday that Jim Harbaugh’s program sit atop his current list of favorites. Elliott explains why he’s decided to go public with that news and his reasoning behind naming the Wolverines his current team to beat.

“Coach (Greg) Mattison is just a great guy and talks to me a lot,” he said. “He talks to my parents and he’s a guy that I feel like can get me to the next level. I’m going out there November 28th for the Ohio State game. It’s going to be a great game. Hopefully I get to see something people aren’t expecting.”

He added, “I just want to take it all in, embrace it and feel it. I just want to see Michigan beat Ohio State.”

There were strong rumors that Elliott had given a silent commitment to Texas over the summer but the Nation’s No. 8 ranked interior defensive lineman by 247Sports never went public with that news. There’s no doubt Elliott is high on the Longhorns which is why they’re close behind Michigan.

“Texas is another school I think highly of,” he said. “We have a great relationship. It’s just another school that I’d go to. It’s them and Michigan really...Baylor too. Those three are almost the same.”

Charlie Strong’s start to his 2015 campaign started off rocky, but after back-to-back wins over Oklahoma and Kansas State, Elliott sees the progress he’s looking for out of the storied program.

“I see progression in all parts of the game,” he said. “From the d-line to the secondary. They’re just all coming together. Texas is really doing a good job of turning things around.”

Elliott initially committed to the Baylor Bears but left them out of his top ten when he opened his recruitment back up. It appears Art Briles and his staff have worked hard to get back into contention.

“I was once committed there for a reason,” he said of the Bears. “I have a connection with them. Me experiencing all these other schools, it’s just coming back to what I know.”

Next weekend, Elliott will travel to Austin to see the Longhorns take on the Kansas Jayhawks.

Man if we can get this kid with Gary our D-line next year:wow:taking everything he says with a grain of salt tho

Inside Michigan Recruiting: 10/29

Elliott: We've been hesitant to put much behind the recent developments in Top50 defensive tackle Jordan Elliott naming Michigan his leader, but there may be something to it after talking to one source regarding his recruitment yesterday.

"Mom actually prefers him further away from home," they said. "She loves Michigan too."

True to the nature of this recruitment, however, the source added that he could be the type that ends up signing with whoever has the last in-home. That being said, Elliott's mom is a vice principal and is reportedly set on focusing on her son's future more than anything. As of today, the belief is that Michigan would be that place.

Aaaaaaaaand I'd still probably pick Texas if I was putting money on his recruitment. It's just been a weird one. Still, his naming of Michigan as his leader appears to have legitimate reasoning behind it.

Moar mom news: The confidence on our end regarding 2016 Top100 wide receiver Dylan Crawford comes from a couple different places, but a new and maybe even more important one popped up on our radar after some digging.

"Oregon (or any other school) is going to have to do a lot to win mom over from Michigan," they said. "Mom wants him at Michigan pretty strongly after the official visit. They'd definitely be my guess as of now."

Crawford has four more official visits to go, so there is that, and his current list for those officials are Oregon, Tennessee, Miami (FL) and Washington. We don't see any of the latter three being a threat, so his official visit to Eugene will be worth watching. He's still a player we feel pretty confident will choose the Wolverines in the end.

Thomas: Bill Kurelic from our Bucknuts affiliate uncovered an interesting note when talking to Detroit (MI) King 2017 Top150 athlete (could be a two-way player) Ambry Thomas: his interest in Michigan State appears to be very low or even non-existent.

“I like Kentucky, Tennessee, Michigan, Ohio State, Pitt, Cincinnati and LSU,” Thomas told Kurelic.

One thing to remember with Thomas is that he and four-star safety Jaylen Kelly-Powell are very, very close and while it's never a certainty that the two will sign with the same team in the end, it wouldn't be a surprise at all if they were both verbal commits to the same program initially. At this point, Ohio State and Michigan are the only two schools we could see that being to, particularly with Kelly-Powell wanting to make a commitment after his junior season, which could be within a month depending on how his playoffs shake out. On top of that, Ohio State already has four commitments projected as defensive backs in the 2017 class and are in good shape with some very elite players at the positions (Darnay Holmes, Jeffrey Okudah, Lamont Wade, etc.).

Bits
- Tennessee offered 2017 safety target J'Marick Woods (Florence, AL) last night, giving him Florida and Tennessee in less than a week. Michigan was his first offer and I think they still lead, but he may be on the verge of blowing up.

- Michigan has been in contact with Marietta (GA) Sprayberry 2016 cornerback Dreshun Miller about visiting this year, and I think he'd currently be a PWO candidate. The extra note on that? He's teammates with elite running back Trey Sermon, who says he'd join Miller for a visit if he ended up coming up. Sermon is the type of elite back Michigan would love to have; his film reminds me of T.J. Yeldon.

- The Wolverines made a running back offer to Gadsden City (AL) three-star Damon Williams a few weeks ago, but they trail a group of SEC schools with Tennessee and Ole Miss among them. He's a longshot prospect, but isn't that high on the board anyways.

- Defensive tackle will be a huge priority for Michigan in the 2017 cycle. The top target? It's absolutely five-star Marvin Wilson (Houston, TX/Episcopal). Jim Harbaugh was unable to get to Houston last Saturday because inclement weather cancelled flights, but Wilson will be one of the first stops going forward after the Alief Elsik duo of Dontavious Jackson and Chris Brown.

When the Mom's loves Michigan that is a huge advantage:feedme:

Michigan's 2016 Cycle -- The Home Stretch

Overview/Rules

Rules-ish stuff

Things to consider when approaching the finish to Michigan's 2016 (or any other class):

1. Anything can change on any given day on any given recruitment.
2. At the end of the day, winning football is the most effective recruiter.
3. Jim Harbaugh recruits a lot of players without a position in mind. There is little use for projecting certain guys (Viramontes, etc.) at this point.
4. NOBODY knows how many players Michigan will sign in 2016, and NOBODY knows exactly how they will get there right now.
5. Decommitments, greyshirts, non-qualifiers and the "mutually parting ways" are the four major ways the class could change. This is a general rule, not Michigan-specific.
6. This staff is evaluating the senior class heavily still, meaning some names not listed in this piece may pop up in the near or later future.
7. This staff looks to be content in letting commitments take official visits elsewhere after a verbal commitment.
8. Not one commitment has sent Michigan their financial aid papers to enroll early and it's unclear who the full group is right now (Brandon Peters is one that will).
9. Check Rule 1 again.

Overview

Michigan's class is currently at twenty commitments by our books (Dele Harding has not publicly decommitted from the staff, but we've removed him from our commitment list for the sake of accuracy in this piece). The breakdown by position is as follows:

QB: 1 (Brandon Peters)
RB: 1 (Kingston Davis)
WR: 1 (Ahmir Mitchell)
TE: 1 (Sean McKeon)
OG: 2 (Ben Bredeson, Michael Onwenu)
OT: 2 (Devery Hamilton, Erik Swenson)
LB: 2 (David Reese, Dytarious Johnson)
CB: 2: (Antwaine Richardson, Sir Patrick Scott)

ATH: Because we currently view eight current commitments as "athletes", they get their own category. The positions are listed in slash order of where we'd project them as of today.

Brad Hawkins (WR/DB)
Ron Johnson (DE/LB)
Rashad Weaver (DE/DT/TE)
Victor Viramontes (LB/H-Back TE/Safety)
Devin Gil (LB/S)
Josh Metellus (S/CB/LB)
Kiante Enis (RB/S)
Chris Evans (no clue on order, but either WR, RB or CB)

Needs/Targets
Needs

As is always the case, the needs number at a certain position are almost 100% projections until the class is nearly at full capacity (wanting one more tackle after 4 OL commits is a good example). These are what we currently see as the biggest needs remaining for the Wolverines in this class (in order and not in full):

Linebacker: Michigan graduates three seniors and have little experience outside of Ben Gedeon returning next year. This is one spot where Michigan pitch early playing time to elite talents.

Defensive line: I kept defensive line as one because a lot of the targets remaining on Michigan's board are versatile players that could play both (Rashan Gary, Keyshon Camp, etc.) in the middle and on the edge. With Reuben Jones and Lawrence Marshall looking like BUCK types, it means the Wolverines have only recruited one pure defensive end in the last two cycles in Shelton Johnson. They don't really lose anybody next season, but lose a TON of players the year after that. They need to start replenishing now.

Wide receiver: The Wolverines don't graduate any key players at the position heading into next season, but are looking to find speed across the board at wide receiver, something they lack to an extent on the current roster.

Running back: Michigan will be thin at running back starting in 2017, especially after the Karan Higdon redshirt was burned. They'll hope to reel in a difference maker in either the 2016 or 2017 class.

Safety: Michigan took one pure safety in the 2015 class with Tyree Kinnel, and who knows how long Jabrill Peppers is going to be around, so solidifying the back end with Delano Hill and Dymonte Thomas not being redshirted will be important.

Tackle: Michigan really wants one more tackle in this class with Jean Delance being the top target on their board in that regard. Tackle on both sides of the ball will likely be the top priority in 2017.

Targets/Recruiting board

QB:

Michigan already has Brandon Peters in the fold, and are done at quarterback in 2016. Dylan McCaffrey remains the top target in 2017.

RB:

With Matt Falcon moving on, Michigan is down to Kingston Davis in the class, with Davis looking to take official visits to Nebraska, LSU and Florida. Ohio State commitment Kareem Walker is the obvious main target for the staff going forward, and while Walker continues to reiterate his commitment to the Buckeyes, nobody is fully convinced that it's the case.

Miami (FL) commitment Travis Homer seems content to wait out the Canes' next hire, and Michigan has also put some feelers out to Florida commitment Lamical Perine as well, although it's unclear where he lies. More than any other position, this is where we will likely see some new names pop up, regardless of how the staff feels about Walker.

WR:

Michigan's wide receiver board is full at this point, but the targets they're eyeing haven't jumped on board yet. The dream finish would be a mix of the only real four targets they're pursuing (right now) in Dylan Crawford, Donnie Corley, Keyshawn Young and Eddie McDoom.

I have Crystal Ball predictions on the Wolverines for both Crawford and Young, and depending on whether three ends up being the number, it wouldn't be a surprise if McDoom was in the class also. We still have Corley committing to Michigan State on December 8th, but Notre Dame may be a team to watch and we aren't fully counting Michigan out yet either. He is a take no matter what. Paramus (NJ) Catholic's Donald Stewart is a name to watch also. He's scheduled to officially visit for Ohio State, but is seeing interest from Auburn and may go to the Iron Bowl instead.

TE:

Sean McKeon is a high-ceiling but raw prospect committed to the staff. The Wolverines would like to pair him with more of a sure thing. The obvious candidate remains five-star Isaac Nauta, who will be a good player wherever he goes, but could be great in Harbaugh's heavy sets.

Other potential targets for the Wolverines are Jacob Mathis, Cary Angeline (USC commit) and three-star Darel Middleton. The latter two do not currently hold Michigan offers.

This is another spot we could see some names pop up late, and it's a spot the coaching staff is continuing to evaluate in order to avoid putting all of their eggs in only elite baskets.

OL:

Michigan is almost 100% certain to take only one more offensive lineman. Right now, the question is whether or not that will be Terrance Davis or Jean Delance. Florida has surged recently for Davis, but our intel still suggests that the Wolverines are in the driver's seat as both he and his mom love the coaching staff.

Delance appears to be a Michigan/Texas battle, with the Longhorns holding the current edge as he hasn't even gotten the chance to see Michigan's campus at this point. His official visit will be one of the most important remaining for the Wolverines. Jim Harbaugh recently reached out to another Texas product in Kellen Diesch, but we don't see that one going anywhere at this point. Michigan is also expecting USC commitment Frank Martin II to officially visit as well.

DL:

The defensive side of things is where it gets really complicated. On the defensive line, there remain a lot of strong possibilities for the Wolverines. I have my 247Sports Crystal Ball on the Wolverines for the #1 overall prospect in the country in Rashan Gary. It'd almost certainly be Michigan if he chose today, but he's not choosing today. Auburn, Alabama, USC, Notre Dame, LSU, Ole Miss, Clemson and others are going to fight for his final official visits, and it's a long ways until National Signing Day.

Michigan is also the public leader for Top50 overall defensive tackle Jordan Elliott. While his recruitment has been relatively wild at this point, there's reason for optimism if the Wolverines are a reiterated leader without having ever stepped foot on campus. He will officially visit for the Ohio State game as well, with Texas being the main competition for him as well.

Other legitimate options for Michigan on the defensive line are Lakeland (FL) Lake Gibson four-star Keyshon Camp and Phoenix (AZ) Brophy Prep four-star Connor Murphy. Camp took his official earlier this season and Murphy will, but doesn't know when yet. They're still in the thick of the race for Euless (TX) Trinity four-star Chris Daniels and we see them as factors for three-star Levi Onwuzurike and North Carolina commit Tomon Fox as well, although Fox could project to BUCK.

LB:

Linebacker is the most complicated position remaining on Michigan's board. They have two commitments in Dytarious Johnson and David Reese, but the latter wants to enroll early and that's something Michigan is not looking to do with him. With those opportunities available at Louisville, Texas, Florida and Nebraska, we're expecting him to eventually end up elsewhere at this point.

How many spots does that leave? That's been the million dollar question, especially with the uncertainty surrounding Reese and Dele Harding.

Right now, our 247Sports Crystal Ball has predictions in on four-stars Devin Bush Jr. and Jonathan Jones, along with BUCK target Carlo Kemp. Michigan may also be in great shape with Caleb Kelly (lots of conflicting info) and Dontavious Jackson (have long believed Michigan is a very real contender). Kelly is a BUCK-size, but is someone Michigan likes at any of their linebacker spots. Would they take all of these guys? I have a hard time seeing it, so it's going to be interesting to see how it all plays out. I believe Bush and Jackson are their top two targets at the position right now. Kemp looks to decide soon between Michigan and Notre Dame, and we still like the Wolverines.

While it's complicated in terms of who may fill the spots, it's not complicated in terms of a target board, as we don't see the coaches having to reach out of their current offer zone to fill the slots they want.

Cornerback

Michigan already has two commitments at cornerback, and we see two more in their future, with Top100 prospects David Long (Stanford) and Lavert Hill (Penn State) a pair of players the staff currently feels great about eventually reeling in. It's also not a spot we anticipate many (if any) more targets to emerge, as a mix of current commitments and athlete-types that are being pursued could fit the bill.

If they miss on those two, there are a bunch of possibilities that I'll cover in the ATH section.

Safety

Top100 ATH Jordan Fuller is listed at "athlete", but he's one versatile player we can plug in as far as Michigan is concerned, as they want him to be the safety for this class. Once an afterthought, the Wolverines have been surging with Fuller as of late and are right in the thick of things for his commitment along with Ohio State, Notre Dame and TCU among others.

Safety, much like cornerback, is a "TBD" type spot right now as there are multiple commitments and targets that could eventually slide into that spot, including Josh Metellus, Kiante Enis and Brad Hawkins.

Special Teams

The Quinn Nordin situation remains bizarre-ish, as the Penn State kicker commit is expected to return to campus for the game against Rutgers. Despite that, he (and his family) has told our Penn State affiliate that he remains 100% committed to the Nittany Lions. We still believe he will be a Wolverine if they push for a commitment from him.

Athletes

Once again, the athlete spot is where it gets a little complicated. The following offers we still have remaining on Michigan's board at the spot, and I tried to put it in order of where I think they are being recruited. Asterisked players are denoted as takes regardless and all of these players have either officially visited or will officially visit.

Devin Asiasi (TE/DE)
Boss Tagaloa (OL/DL)
Mecole Hardman* (WR/CB)
Shyheim Carter* (CB/WR)
Lamar Jackson* (CB/S/WR)
Chris Brown* (CB/S)

Gauging Michigan's Chances
This final section is simple. I'm going to gauge Michigan's chances with their remaining offers by separating them into a few categories.

Excellent shot

These are prospects that Michigan has a very legitimate chance to sign in February as of October 29th.

QB: Done
RB: None
WR: Dylan Crawford, Keyshawn Young
TE: None
OL: Jean Delance, Terrance Davis
DL: Rashan Gary, Connor Murphy, Jordan Elliott, Keyshon Camp
LB: Dontavious Jackson, Devin Bush Jr., Jonathan Jones, Carlo Kemp
CB: David Long, Lavert Hill
S: None
ATH: Lamar Jackson, Chris Brown

They're in it

These are prospects Michigan has more than a puncher's chance to sign in February as of October 29th.

RB: Kareem Walker
WR: Donnie Corley, Donald Stewart, Eddie McDoom
TE: Isaac Nauta, Jacob Mathis, Cary Angeline
OL: None
DL: Levi Onwuzurike, Chris Daniels
LB: Jeffrey McCulloch, Caleb Kelly
CB: None
S: Jordan Fuller
ATH: Shyheim Carter, Mecole Hardman, Boss Tagaloa, Devin Asiasi

Nah

These are uncommitted offers we feel very confident will not end up at Michigan as of October 29th.

RB: Robert Washington
WR: Devin Duvernay, Binjimen Victor, Diondre Overton, Steffon McKnight, Tre Nixon, Grant Holloway (don't even think he was offered), Theo Howard
TE: Nick Eubanks, Thaddeus Moss (non-committable)

Boulder (Colo.) Fairview four-star defensive end Carlo Kemp is just about ready to make his college commitment.

The 6-3, 250-pounder has narrowed his focus to Notre Dame, Michigan and Colorado.

"I don't think by this Sunday," said Kemp of when he'll make a decision. "I'm really looking to make it next week for sure. We are going into the playoffs and I'd like to possibly have that off my chest for playoffs. So, hopefully by then."

It's been a fun, yet difficult time for him. He has three finalists he's looking at and all three schools have a lot going for them. He continues to go back and forth regarding his decision.

"They all offer different things for me," said Kemp, a class of 2016 recruit. "Notre Dame is the name and fame and all the tradition that comes along with it. Michigan is up and coming. With head coach Jim Harbaugh and everything that he brings to a program. Colorado is my home. It's where I have grown up."

Kemp admits that all three have recruited him hard and all three are still very much in the picture.

Per the 247Sports Composite rankings, Kemp is the No. 14 strong-side defensive end in the country and No. 1 prospect in Colorado from the class of 2016.

Raiders' Charles Woodson named AFC Defensive Player of the Month

Michigan Newsletter

In the same month Charles Woodson turned 39 years old, he was also one of the best defensive player in the entire NFL.

The Raiders safety was recognized for those efforts Thursday morning, when he was named AFC Defensive Player of the Month for October.

RELATED: Raiders S Nate Allen vows to be 'ready to go' when eligible

Woodson won the award thanks to his three interceptions this month, including two against the Broncos in Week 5. Those were his first interceptions off Denver quarterback Peyton Manning, and they made him the oldest player in NFL history to record two picks in the same game. He also added 12 tackles and a total of four passes defended in October, as Woodson continues to defy Father Time.

It's the fifth time Woodson was won defensive player of the month in his illustrious 18-year career, during which he's recorded 64 interceptions to put him in a tie with Ed Reed for sixth all-time. His next interception would tie him for fifth and give him five in a season for the fifth time -- first since 2011 with the Packers.

According to the team website, Woodson is one defensive player of the month shy of Bruce Smith's NFL-record six awards, and he's the first Raiders player to win it since linebacker Kirk Morrison in 2007.

Along with his play on the field, Woodson has been a mentor for a young Raiders team on the rise. He'll go down as one of the greatest Raiders ever, especially if he can add a few more highlights the rest of the season.
