It's embarassing how much y'all have turned on Lin.

You seem to have forgotten him carrying your team on his back last season when Melo and Amare were injured (as usual)
it was like 11 games mostly against the bottom half of the league.

and all of you others forget that we went on a losing streak right after that.

lin was no savior, and a lot of us never fell in love with him like that anyway.

True! I wonder if JR feels the same way about Novak's contract as he does about Lins.

I was serously wondering why no other team offered JR a better contract. At least he's smart enough to know Woodson will give him the opportunity to get a better contract down the line.

mayo is just now being offered though... jr is about a tier below mayo.. if he would have held out he would have gotten a similar or better deal before the end of the month..

The same bottom half of the league that had the three max cats losing to teams like the Warriors,Raptors,Charlotte(:wow:), Bucks, and other garbage squads before Lin came in. Chill with that shyt.

Look, we had a lame duck coach with a questionable offense considering the personnel, no training camp, no point guard, and an injured Melo trying to play 2 positions at once early on. Lin came at the right time....we had no PG for so long, then all of a sudden we had a pretty good one and we :eat: well off mostly wack teams. We had a losing streak WITH Lin running D'antoni's offense and didn't start winning again until he got canned. People seem to act like Lin never got injured and Melo and Chandler didn't have to drag us into the playoffs on their backs with Melo basically dominating everyone in his path. Lin was cleared to play in the playoffs but chose not to....I'm not going to say that was a bad decision business wise but that's not something a franchise player that the knicks are going to have to pay through the nose for would do. I'd like to keep lin of course but he's nothing to shed tears over if he walks.

My brother's keeper
Lin is a smart dumb nikka.

If he wanted his money and NY, all he had to do was say Houston is prepared to offer me X.

If Dolan was prepared to pay 8/8/8 into 2015...done deal and no need to sign the offer sheet. If not, sign the offer sheet and get your money in Texas

:mjpls: it's funny how the losing streak coincided with the ballstoppers return but let's not look at reality.

I don't think he would've been able to get an 8/8/8 type of contract, a new clause in the CBA means that he wouldn't make more than the mid level exception (5 mil) his first few season, it had to be backloaded.

Yea that is right...

But he could have negotiated whatever he wanted with the Knicks. He could have negotiated 5/5/7/7... with a player option or team option on the fourth year. Or signed 5/5/7 with performance bonuses.

He could have negotiated with the Knicks instead trying to back them into a corner... That's if his desire was to play with the Knicks.

If not... he did the right thing, cause he's about to get paid.

Oh but wait... what happened when Woodson took over? I believe they were killing teams be like 15-20 points.

And what happened when Amare and Lin got hurt?

I believe Melo and Chandler carried the knicks into the playoffs. :hula:

Some financial analysts think Lin is worth around $80 million a year in merchandising/advertising to the Knicks.

I don't think Dolan is letting him go anywhere.

are these the same analysts that over valued facebook stock and assured the economy was sound right before the recession? :shaq:

No, it was because D'antoni didn't know how to utilize Melo coupled with the fact that we had to play tougher teams on a more consistent basis.

Wtf are you talking about? If you bought up the Melo injuries early in the season you'd have more of a point. They didn't utilize Melo any differently post Pringles. All I know is that some of the best basketball played all season was with Lin at point.
