I agree. He is feenin' to stir up some debate.

we're supposed to take advice on improving the Knicks from a diehard Nets' fan?

:shaq2:

LOL, that's the face I had as I was listening. I got him turned off for now to listen to Stephen A. later. Might endure Cowherd for a minute since I saw that Mike Lupica might be on.

So Lins High School Coach Said Lin Is Shocked The Knicks Haven't Matched And He Doesn't Wanna Leave NY, He Figured The Knicks Would Match Anything The Rockets Threw Out

Kinda Hard To Feel Bad For A Guy Tryna Low Ball Our Team When A Guy Like JR Smith Is Taking Scraps Cuz He Genuinely Loves Being Here

True! I wonder if JR feels the same way about Novak's contract as he does about Lins.

I was serously wondering why no other team offered JR a better contract. At least he's smart enough to know Woodson will give him the opportunity to get a better contract down the line.

There wasnt really a market for JR Smith's services

Well You Could Argue That, Seeing As How All The Dudes Left Looking For Deals Are SGs But It Doesn't Changed The Fact He Didn't Even Shop The Market Like Everyone Else Did, Some Other Team Could Have Made Us Spend More To Try And Get Him Back

It's embarassing how much y'all have turned on Lin.

You seem to have forgotten him carrying your team on his back last season when Melo and Amare were injured (as usual)

Aint No One Turned On Lin

If You Do Positive Things For My Team You Get Praised, If You Negative Things You Get Criticized

Im Surprised This Has To Be Explained To You

If Guys Like Patrick Ewing Can Get Criticized Why The fukk Should Lin Be The Exception?

I don't think it's a matter of turning on him, at least not for me. I ain't mad at him for getting his money. Sometimes when you try to hustle it comes back on you. Dude had a coming out like nobody has ever seen, became an overnight international sensation. He became incredibly marketable in the process, too, whether or not it was unfairly due to his being Asian. The main problem is that he is still largely unproven. I would love to have him back, but I ain't about to give him loads of dough.

He tried to hustle the Knicks, I'm sure he'd rather be here than Houston, but at the end of the day the Knicks was like "hey, I ain't the one". :manny:

:snoop:

What?.... and Lin isn't the proclaimed "savior" of the Knicks?

He was guaranteed a starting job with Knicks... even if only by the "tebow effect" where fans will demand it. And that would have resorted in too many endorsement deals for him to count AND easier access to the international fanbase.

And the only reason JR ended up shooting as much as he did last season was because the Knicks had no other option. Before all the injuries, he shot just as much as he did with anyone else. I also think he did that to try and give JR some confidence, hoping that he would eventually get into a groove and start knocking those shots down.

That's another reason why I think the knicks need an EFFICIENT shooting guard... not a volume shooter like JR who can win or lose you a game. They need a 10ppg player who shoots 46-47% from the field or something (If that type of player is available).

I was cool with him being back until Houston made his Year 3 salary max-level. And then we added a PG who's on the same tier (when he's not in lockout shape) at a much cheaper price.

Jeremy Lin is definitly at fault in all of this too, no doubt. You can see a little bit of diva in his supposed humble persona. If he was 85% he should have tried to give the Knicks something, anything, in the playoffs but I think he was trying to protect himself against potentially playing bad and losing money. And if he REALLY wanted to ensure he wanted to go to back to the Knicks, he could have went to them before signing offer sheet and tried to meet them halfway, especially considering he'd make that money back and then some with endorsements in NY anyways.

I'm just saying that he carried the team on his back for almost half the season, he was putting up insane numbers (including his turnovers :yeshrug:) but I do not think that his numbers were a fluke and although I don't think they'd be replicated in NY this year, I do think that he could have been a pretty solid starting point guard for them, especially with Jason Kidd there to mentor him.

I don't think 14 and 7 would have been out of the question for him.
