So what's the protocol for rooting for the BK Nets? I'm trying to find out if I need to turn in my Knicks jerseys in the case they don't sign Lin. WHAT THE fukk

This guy is the REAL reason we made the playoffs. Without him the whole season would've been a shyt show. He got everyone into the Knicks again. Biggest story in sports. Now we let him walk for NOTHING? Could've at least traded him for a draft pick or something. Maybe some sodas for the locker rooms, maybe? Instead the biggest story of the last season is going to walk. The 2nd biggest jersey seller will walk. I mean in the tickets, MSG viewership, brand recognition alone.

fukk it, I have options now. I'm keeping an eye on Nets tickets.

That sort of bytchassness is not welcomed at the Garden. Take that shyt to Bk.

Knicks went 11-5 (wins over orl 2x, atl, bos, chi, & mil 2x) after Lin got hurt on March 24. We were still fighting for a playoff spot (a lot of people said we were done & that the Bucks were going to pass us ::shaq2:)
Melo & the Knicks defense got us to the playoffs.

Not no damn Jeremy Lin.

I give him a lot of credit. He was balling for about a good month or so, and he brought back excitement back the the Garden. But to say dude saved the Knicks season, is a stretch.

Before Melo & Amar'e went out we were already outside of the playoffs. Had Lin not won those games, our playoff hopes would've been done. Don't sit here and say differently

Lin contributed, that is definitely for sure, but we can't sit here and act like defensively once Antoni left the knicks weren't a completely new team. Like literally a completely different team on defense, just straight shutting teams down, holding them to 80s or less, below 50% from the field, the whole nine.

problem with lin potentially, besides not being worth $30 milliom, is the so called "tebow effect" as well. on a team with two egos already theres always the risk that a high profile, unproven player like lin creates mutiny on the team if things start going funny. with felton this is not a problem, theres no calls to let felton shoot more if melo goes on a cold streak, or anything like that.

end of the day we need a pg who is going to average 8-12 dimes a game, we dont need scoring at that position. lin was never going to give us 20 ppg, and his assist to turn over ratio would be a problem. felton is a better fit.

Felton ain't giving us 8-12 dimes breh. every argument you can make against Lin you can make against Felton. And even worse, Felton doesn't even have the benefit of a future upside anymore.

he had JR and B. Diddy at that point tho. Lin beat teams with Bill Walker and Jared Jeffries in the starting lineup

can we stop downplaying the impressive things Lin did this season?

I'm not downplaying Lin but really jr and bdiddy ??! Bdiddy been finished and melo had to play the 4 which even bron found difficult . Melo had to beat better teams also and he had his own fans wanting him to lose . Don't try to make it like he was with the allstar team they were both impressivE

Ya....don't play dumb. Lin almost singlehandedly turned our season around. Ungrateful ass nikkas. We were about to lose like 12 straight or some ridiculous shyt like that before Pringles said fukk it. We would've even beaten Boston right before our streak ended if he played Lin the second half of that game.

Damn so even with the Knicks history of awful contracts, you guys are totally sold on Lin for $30 million in the third year, based off of Linsanity? :dwillhuh:

Like $30 million for Lin in the third year or $3-4 million for Felton. Do you really think Lin's number will be good enough to justify him costing 10x the amount of Felton in that third year? :dwillhuh:

By then we will be looking at the next PG, and we'll have some $ to go after them with. No? :shaq:

No one is saying that. Here are the facts:

  1. Carmelo was playing like ass
  2. STAT was playing like ass
  3. The team looked like the offensive equivalent of vomit on shyt
  4. The Knicks playoff hopes were in jeopardy
  5. The Knicks BEFORE Lin were floundering, underachieving, and waiting for someone to save them

The only reason we were even in a position to be in the playoffs as because of that crucial stretch headed off by Lin.

Then Woody came in and saved us again.

Edit: And the defense was never the problem. The Knicks were a good defensive team all year...and were still losing. The problem was the offense. The Knicks were like 5 different teams this year...all of which had to do with Lin, Melo, D'antoni & Woodson. And sadly, Melo seemed to be the one who contributed most to our losing ways

:what:

We had 2 six game losing streaks this past season. One without Lin & one with Lin.

If y'all want to give that much credit to Lin, you can give the same amount of credit to Mike Woodson.

He turned our season around with an 18-6 record. We were fighting for our playoff lives during that stretch. Remember not only did we get in, we passed those ho ass Sixers & was only 1 game behind Orl for the 6th seed.

the third year would be the last and largest year of Melo, STAT & Chandler's contracts. Matching Lin would put the Knicks further in tax hell, but that is all. It's not like the Knicks will be able to pick up a star either way. You either match Lin to an undeserving contract on the hopes that he comes within a stones throw of earning it or you don't match and keep Felton and resign yourself to a borderline average point guard for three years

I have no disagreements. Somebody tried to give Melo credit for us making the playoffs tho :comeon:

Umm... What was the Knicks' record after Lin and Amare got hurt?

And what were Carmelo's stat's during that time period?

this is what ive been saying.

Its not about the money...something was off the entire time with Lin/Melo/Dolan/Woodson...they were never jiving or else Lin would have been the first thing they took care of this offseason.

The Knicks knew there was a possibility of a team overbidding on Lin...now this is just damage control for the fanbase that Lin is asking for too much money and the contract is 'ridiculous'

it isnt ridiculous...they knew this could happen. I just dont think they ever had the intention of bringing him back

People are not looking at the big picture. People are so fixated on that hot stretch, that they're not thinking about what Lin can do an 82 game season where teams are no longer going to by caught be surprise. They're going to break him down and expose his every weakness. Lin's biggest question mark is consistency. Being paid big money is all about consistency.
