what do you guys think about this guy who recommends no carb re-feeds?.....he stays in keto permanently. he also says he only eats around 100 grams of protein a day and 80% of his calories come from fat...and he's managed to gain muscle while doing this. gonna be starting keto in may cause i'm at 12% body fat and I just can't seem to crack single digits. just wanted to know if carb re-feeds are really necessary for keeping muscle. it seems kind of odd, because doesn't it take 5-6 days for your body to get into ketosis?....so what's the point of eating carbs every weekend when it's going to knock you out of keto, and then you gotta wait another few days to get back in....then by the time you're back in it's time for another carb reload. just seems like it would make more sense to stay in keto the whole way through. but i'm no expert, so I wanna know everybody's opinion on this. I seen these vids on youtube and they caught my attention.

I haven't heard of carb refeeds being an element of keto. Like you said to some degree it defeats the purpose.

That said, Keto and low carb are two different things. Carb refeeds on low carb make sense.

The refeeds help keep you sane in my opinion. Its not that you need them, but mentally it breaks up the act of dieting if its not a "lifestyle". Sometimes they kill that craving and you either feel better or shyttier. Usually I go overboard like many do and end up feeling like shyt and then it pushes me back on track. Its funny tho, you may look great after the refeed even when feeling like a bloated mess.

What's a typical day diet look like bruh bruh? :ld:
Mornings are eggs with sausage or bacon and avocado

lunches are grilled sardines and a spring mix with a oil based dressing or a hamburger patty with cheese and bacon on it

and my dinner is whatever I thew on the crockpot. last week I made a bean-less chili, this week i have some chicken thighs

I also snack on greek yogurt, porkrinds, and a little bit of almonds

also I use almond flour to make muffins to eat with my dinners

i drink tons of water and tea

I cook with cocoanut oil a lot

my diet is basically fats, proteins and carbs---in that order i don/t go over 30g of carbs

I've incorporated keto + Intermittent Fasting. I usually wind up with two meals during the day. I'm partial to breaking the fast with a gang of eggs, sausage and bacon in butter. And then later on I'll have a green smoothie with some fruit and mostly veggies, and a half an avocado for extra fats.
