yo im only trying this shyt again when i have complete control of all the food in the house, otherwise this shyt is just too hard to keep up.

in holland its normal to eat bread on just about every part of the day. really hard to completely avoid that.

Would this diet be good for a skinny-ish cat that just wants to lose bf and gain muscle?

I'm not really trying to lose weight (I'm only 150ish), just want to cut my body fat % a little (I'm don't have much muscle tone) and gain some muscle.
HEELLLLLLLLL NO and this diet fukkin sucks.

damn so much conflicting info in this thread

i'm doing it for the first time...right now i'm on day 4 & it feels pretty good

that metallic taste in your mouth is weird as fukk, and doesn't go away

i dont care though, i'm just trying to get real cut before summer. mostly eating salmon, cashews, eggs & olive oil. i heard you can get away with putting ranch & mayo on everything. but i'ma try to do it clean

It's basically the diet Bobybuilders use when cutting for a show.

It tricks the body into thinking its starving because of the lack of carbs but you're not actually starving yourself. It's good for a 6-10 week cycle but dont stick to it for to long! Also you may find that you lost a ton of weight doing it but that moment you start adding Carbs again, you will blow up fast so be careful when coming off it that you gradually add Carbs and not go overboard with it.

seems counter intuitive. you need a certain amount of fats in your diet if you're going to keto. what that number is, idk. I've have great results keto-ing in the past and most of my diet was chicken thighs, chicken wings, pork shoulder, sausages, steaks, ground beef. make sure you eat enough greens/fiber. if not, get a digestive enzyme.

on keto, you should be refeeding (high carbs low fat, at least 2x LBM in grams for carbs) at least once a week. once every ~4-5 days if you're lean (<=12% maybe 11) already. and if you're leaner, your multiplier for carbs goes up as well.

No amount of water makes the metallic taste in your mouth go away, just get used to mouthwash a lot. The taste was still a good way to see if you threw yourself out of ketosis or not.

I saw dramatic results with keto-type diets and carbs<50 grams. I might do this again in May and be better about refeeds. If my salads and greens put me over 80 grams of carbs, I was out of ketosis, and for most people, the mark tends to be 90 or 100 grams of carbs. It takes me about 3 days to get back into ketosis so I may do 10 day cycles instead of weekly ones.

The bad part was I had poor energy all the time, body was very sore from lifting and soreness took longer than usual to get over. And of course, I didn't incorporate carbs back in a moderate way so a lot of progress became fluffy again.
