About to hop on this but looking for slightly more protein intake to gain/keep muscle mass. (Work out 5 to 6 days a week)

Also gonna add IF too and do the refeed on weekends.

Wish me luck brehs
because you're body isn't using muscle at all for energy you keep a lot more and can even make gains with a lot less protein.

I'm not getting nowhere near the amount of calories i need. I should be getting 2k. But I'm getting 1200-1500. Not possible for me to get more in. And I been pissing out my ass, pause. Been on keto and IF since the 2nd. Feeling good though
one tablespoon of coconut oil is 170 calories just add it to anything. Put good butter on anything.

^This. Basically, anything that I have to cook, I cook it in butter or olive oil.

As far as an update, well, it appears I'm starting to drop weight. I assume the initial drop is water weight so it's nothing I'm overly stoked about. But the diet transition on my end was relatively without incident.

6th day on keto and IF and i feel a little better. Went from 175 to 168 but still havent full adapted to it yet. Good part is i was able to get my 3 days of lifting in with slight draw backs but was able to finish. Hopefully i feel 100% better by next week.

Bought those keto strips to, was in moderate coloration :win:

Man I just started this shyt and I feel terrible. Im about 4 days in and now I have constant headaches and I can feel my energy draining throughout the day. Yesterday was one of the worst gym days I’ve had in a loooooong ass time. I started to get fatigued after warm up sets :wtf:

My girl dropped 10 in like 2 weeks and swear this shyt is soooo easy. She was on the treadmill for like 90 minutes just running and smiling. And I’m damn near dead doing the same routines and splits I’ve been doing for years.

Normally when I wanna cut I just do IF in a 6 hour window and sorta cut back on carbs. But that shyt takes me like 3-4 months to drop 15-20 pounds. I read that Keto was much more efficient and could give me quicker results.

I’m currently 215 and trying to get down to maybe 200. What am I doing wrong? Everyone claims it gets better but today I don’t even wanna get out of bed.

It does. I'm guessing that the reason you feel like shyt early on because of your body adapting to not going off carbs but instead, with fat. After a few days, it becomes manageable. That said, the Keto Flu -- which is what you're experiencing, I think -- affects everybody differently. For some, it's worse than others. For me, I know I was typically sluggish through the first week and was mentally slower. It was hard to sustain focus. That said, I had no problem doing what I needed to do through a given day. It always felt like a headache was ABOUT to come on, so I know I popped a few Advil here or there.

The worst I felt was this past weekend, because, due to taking my older brother's advice, I decided to do a 48-hour fast with nothing but water (he said that before he hit the diet, he did the fast to speed up the body's transition). I didn't make it -- I had a teaspoon of Natural Peanut Butter during that window. Besides that, I had nothing but water -- and I was light-headed for the next two days. That was my mistake.

But it does get better. Right now? I'm pretty much ready to go for the day.

And it does work. This time last week (post-work), I was at 279.2, I had a good amount of water in me because I read somewhere that staying hydrated could help stave off the more awful effects of Keto Flu. I think I started the week around 274. But this morning I weighed in at 262.4. Surely the fast had something to do with it, but I was admittedly dropping a little bit consistently prior to that. My goal through this (I only agreed to two weeks, but I might give it one more, at the very least ease carbs and sugar back into things) was to get below 260. I should be able to do that.

Holy shyt breh thats amazing progress. I'm going to stick with it, today the headaches haven't been nearly as bad but there is still zero energy.

U got the keto flu. I had it on the 3rd and 4th day. Best thing to do is increase your sodium and potassium. If that doesnt work, get apple cider and gingerale mix with lemon juice and u good. Ride it out breh, trust me ita worth it

Update: So the two-week Keto trial I agreed to ended today.

When I started, I was at 274. Got as high as 279 during this diet. Weighed in this morning at 260, so I lost something in the range of 14-19 pounds, I guess. I've noticed a few changes but the main thing really is how my clothes fit now (I'm very close to having to basically buy all-new clothes for situations like work, etc.). I can tell I'm smaller in some places but still a ways to go. The most bothersome part about the whole thing was the amount of fat I had to get comfortable putting in my body. I like carbs and sweets and all that, but I typically don't eat that much fried shyt. Most everything I typically eat is grilled or baked (sans fries).

After the first week, I noticed energy levels regulate and even increase somewhat. I could see myself jumping on it again later down the line.

Now I have to ease back (read: how do I add carbs back without overdoing it) into the status quo.

If you’re saying I can lose 10-14lbs in 2 weeks I’m all in. Someone help me out with this. The last 7-8 months were real bad for me with the wife being pregnant and i put on to much weight.

I’m usually a gym rat and workout a lot. But last few months it’s gettjng harder and harder to lose weight. I’m usually around 170-175 (Im 5’8) but now I’m hovering around 201, Im not fat by any means you can still see muscles but my gut is crazy right now.

So who can break down a schedule for me? I work regular 730-430, I can usually get in a workout session during my work day for an hr but i can easily get one in after work. So just let me know what time I should eat, what I should eat, etc.

Thanks in advance

The main change is really what you eat, not necessarily when. That said, when my brother recommended it to me, he said he did it with intermittent fasting as well., and he fasted (water only) for the first two days of it to kick-start the body's transition into ketosis (:damn:).

So long story short, during this I ate like, one meal a day and had a snack or two.

The diet itself is high fat, moderate protein, little to no carbs, no sugars. To make it easier (:sadcam:) I basically cut out all carbs and sugars. So no bread, pasta, fries, breaded meats, rice, sweets, sugary drinks, chips, potatoes, cereals, milk, etc.

You can have basically any meat -- even wings -- so long as they aren't breaded in flour or whatever. So steaks, grilled chicken, salmon, bacon, pork chops and what not is good to go. Gotta up the fat intake, so things like avocado, heavy cream, butter, dressings, olive/coconut oils (ranch, mayo and all that) are encouraged to be eaten and/pr cooked with. Veggies are good too (spinach, leafy greens), sans beans. Water is essential and basically the only thing you can for sure drink (black coffee by itself and I think unsweet tea is fine too). I also used those sugar-free drink mix powders to jazz up water.

Typical day for me was like:

Breakfast: Sausage link (or bacon strips) with two cheese eggs

Lunch: Breadless burgers (lettuce for bun) with avocado ranch dressing or some sort of salad or lettuce wrap variant

Snack: Salami slices with cheese

Dinner: Nothing. I didn't eat past 4 pm most days, and I find that I don't eat as much in general when I'm not at work.

I ended up cutting out breakfast a few days in and basically my window was 12-4. I don't recommend this, but I'm just telling you what I ended up doing.

As for exercise, I'd have to defer to someone else on that as I didn't have to do any of it. But from what I read/was told, a hardcore workout is not recommended on this diet, but some moderate cardio or light lifting session (in terms of time spent) might be OK. Will say that consensus is that exercise + Keto = :banderas: results.

Day 12 for me, been doing great. Keto + IF (19-5) + 5x5. But this morning I fukked up and got a shytty breakfast :snoop: I'll work twice as hard to make up for it today.

Aside from today's hiccup, I found I adapted quickly and maintained enough mental strength in order to keep it going.

I went throughout the entire page and still confused lol.

Is there a specific time you should eat or not eat? Is it similar to intermittent fasting where you eat from a certain time to certain time?

Basically someone just say “look idiot, eat this at 6am, this at noon, so forth and so forth”. Keep in mind I don’t eat pork so please no bacon suggestion.

I’m At 200, tryna get back down to 170-175
