You gotta respect the move to retain ownership, i just fear what they may be looking for is not out there.

Not knowing the numbers would you rather have 5Ms and retain ownership or 10Ms and give up some of it? That seems to be the ultimate question here.

Seems to me Schulz’s patreon model would be the way to go in the interim. 1 ep free, and 1 for purchase with an option to add on.

From what they said it’s 10 ms and give up all of the ownership. I’d take the 5.

I’d love nothing more than to be proven wrong about joes business acumen because at the end of the day I do want them to win, they are the only podcast i’ve been able to be excited for on the regular. Even their trash episodes are entertaining for me.

I just feel like joe is gonna sign another deal, it’s gonna be a celebration, and then back here once again where we learn it wasn’t a great deal and it wasn’t supposed to be a good deal. For once I w ant to see joe actually go where he’s trying to go and not taking us on a bunch of detours

And it’s clear that he wants to own his shyt.
And it’s clear it’s not about money bc he stated he was offer 8 figures.
And they didn’t offer stocks, they offered a Rolex.

Ima learn ya lil nikka:camby:
What does that have to do with anything? :dahell:

The point of that post is to showcase that you can do whatever the fukk is best for you. Some people don’t wanna work at Apple, some want to own a podcast. Some want to work at Apple, nothing is wrong. I don’t know why one side gets to determine that because it’s right for them it should be for everyone else.

Diversity in what we do makes the world go around.

Na
rogan is a lot more guest based so their guests supporters/fans follow and some stick around ..And it’s a lot of top tier guests .. (I’ve never seen/heard
His or Simmons podcast so I’m going off clips I see)..so by default he probably gets more

JB Rarely has guests and when he does its mostly nikkas like lucky day that nobody has ever heard of , for the last 30 minutes of the show so the Views won’t change much ...the show is more built around the hosts ..and nobody in podcasting world has figured out how to maximize that fully yet , which is why they all do their own things on the side

Joe seems to be more focused on sustainability, that he can put up good numbers with his routine over and over ...but doesn’t want a company to eat off some interview he does with young berg on a different platform

I wouldn't want nobody to have access to my entire brand eithed

I like that he gave Dame his props.

I honestly don't care that much about their dealings but it's entertainment.

At the end of the day, he felt the deal wasn't right so he said no. Props to him. Spotify said alright then, good luck on your future endeavours. But he's still mad.

It's kind of like if you got a jumpoff (pun nit intended) that wants to be promoted and complains you lied about some shyt. You tell her you'll buy her a promise ring but no marriage. She says no so you tell her good luck. Then she gets mad at you cause you wouldn't fight to keep her.

In this scenario, i agree the girl should leave. I agree the guy is an a$$hole for lying to her. But #1 why was she still trying to stay after she lied? #2 once she made her choice to leave, why is she still talking about dude?

I salute him for fighting his fight but you can't "shame" a corp into doing the "right thing". Corporations have no souls or conscience. He's playing his audience into buying into this "cause". Butagain it doesn't mean he's wrong. And it doesn't mean Spotify is wrong either. Only thing i think is fukked up is how Spotify played him with the analytics and he will probably go to court over that.

It's hard to explain, but Joe's reasoning for not taking the Spotify deal is correct. He will get more money elsewhere. In a couple months this thread will be full of people saying, "oh shyt, Budden was smart to not Spotify deal"
they will probably get more money with incentives to match their goals, but i wouldn't be surprised if they took a lil bit less than spots offer to not get fleeced out of a brand.

i think its dikkswinging that they specifically had a noediting clause in their first contract. it's a lesson to these folks giving up the house for a few ms. they cant alter his msg

if spotify is willing to buy their shyt for that price, its really worth more for them to keep it in the long run

This dude got exposed for living with his mother and lying about every aspect of his life on Twitter. :camby:

Let’s just say $20MM is a real number. You’d have to be a damn fool not to take that for 6 hours of work a week. That doesn’t even include what you make off live gates, festivals, merch and whatever else you’re doing. All of this to talk about nothing with your homeboys.

Anyone who says they would turn that down is either trying to prove something to black twitter or insane.
Of course you would take the deal because your poor in comparison and can’t imagine making big money deals in the 9-10 figure range. It’s crazy for him to want to own his own chit huh.
