For what it’s worth, Joe is a lot more talented than Charlamagne, Van Lathan, and definitely Crissles, so I can respect him putting them in their place.

He’s also right about Charlamagne being a forever worker. He tried to jump into the YouTube lane and no one cared. He will be signing another TBC deal come December.

He’s also right about Van Lathan being a token black guy :mjlol: he signed with Bill Simmons after that article came out that he’s a racist POS. He’s comfortable being showcased as the black best friend.

Joe might be going to war without a war chest, but he’s so determined (at least on the surface) I hope he gets whatever it is he’s looking for
That’s why it’s funny when people say CTG can go on and blow up without the breakfast club. I mean he’s the most popular and the best personality out of the three, but he’s a shell of himself at this point. He can’t even be what got him to this point anymore because he’s scared of being “cancelled” and some of them same people don’t care about them long ass mental health talks like they want us to believe. He can do other things no doubt, but if he leaves the radio show for good I don’t know what his future will look like.

The market is becoming too saturated. Everyone is just following their favorite celebrities now rather than genuinely enjoying podcast for its content. If someone has an audience they are gonna make a podcast, especially in these times where there’s not a lot of entertainment opportunities out there because of the pandemic.

Joe was one of the first to do this type of content. Probably the 5th out to do an somewhat in-depth hip hop black cultural podcast and make it work. That’s early.

But they haven’t really done much to really expand. I think joe’s biggest audience came from ES and the fallout from that. I think they would have had twice teh audience they have now if joe stayed on complex.
It’s always been the case that his views in whatever peak when he’s upset about something, and calling people out. It happened with the Drake shyt, the Complex shyt, Wednesday’s episode I’m sure...and now today’s.

But those don’t happen often.

Not for Joe. He’s the best at it.

it’s best when actual veterans host the platform.

There’s no real podcasts with veterans and their platforms. And ones trying right now are too interview focused. Joe is really in rarefied space right now.

It's hard to explain, but Joe's reasoning for not taking the Spotify deal is correct. He will get more money elsewhere. In a couple months this thread will be full of people saying, "oh shyt, Budden was smart to not Spotify deal"
So what type of deal u expecting if most think he turned down 20-30 million?

rogan is a lot more guest based so their guests supporters/fans follow and some stick around ..And it’s a lot of top tier guests .. (I’ve never seen/heard
His or Simmons podcast so I’m going off clips I see)..so by default he probably gets more

JB Rarely has guests and when he does its mostly nikkas like lucky day that nobody has ever heard of , for the last 30 minutes of the show so the Views won’t change much ...the show is more built around the hosts ..and nobody in podcasting world has figured out how to maximize that fully yet , which is why they all do their own things on the side

Joe seems to be more focused on sustainability, that he can put up good numbers with his routine over and over ...but doesn’t want a company to eat off some interview he does with young berg on a different platform
But Joe Rogans YouTube pulls in ATLEAST 4 million views a video.some more than 15 million views. None of Joes YouTube has 1 million views.

the audience for Rogan and Budden are not close to the same.

I was answering a question on why rogan increases his audience and Budden doesn’t

I don’t compare the 2

Joe’s response to that is Spotify is holding back the data that truly shows how steadily the audience has continued to grow.....allegedly.

yeah which is why he brought up how 20k people listened episode 1 That week..and how every time they reach whatever goal they were expected to meet, all of a sudden Spotify “moves the goal post”

basically saying the contract says “get 15 new listeners a week”...they’ll get 17..and then Spotify would be on some “well only 13 of them listened for more than 146 minutes so it doesn’t count, because we only talking about 148 minutes and up” kinda shyt

Depends what your goal is.
I’d rather be a brain surgeon than own a hotdog stand in Montana, which is laughable according to his reasoning. Dames black and white view is for the birds. Being an employee at Apple and owning 0.5% of the stocks goes against their view, but in reality it means that you’re worth 10 billion bucks and doing what you love.

People forget that Joe Budden still has jobs too.
And it’s clear that he wants to own his shyt.
And it’s clear it’s not about money bc he stated he was offer 8 figures.
And they didn’t offer stocks, they offered a Rolex.

Ima learn ya lil nikka:camby:
