videos on spotify would have actually been worth watching with the music though. You're only getting half the experience with youtube.

Joe got damn near a million subscribers on YouTube. I would leverage that shyt too. And the way the negotiations sound like they were going, no way I'd let them use me to prop up their video shyt the same way I propped up their podcast shyt

He’ll make less money doing the YouTube thing. They don’t pay as well. I thought he was going to treat the podcast like music and drop 2 singles a week. That would have been more profitable

Parks, Rory and Mal have never seen a million so the deal thats in place is actually crazy for them to walk away from, they’re basically forced into this predicament because Joe owns the podcast. Even though Rory has been made partner he still cant make an executive decision, he has no choice but to blindly follow Joe - who has other ventures to fall back on and has touched a million liquid.
Joe works based on principles, but principles aren’t always whats right for your less fortunate co-business owners.

i've said this before - if joe and crew want weekends and holidays off like they work for the city/state or an office job - then they should create backup episodes where they discuss the laundry list of shyt they claim they're gonna talk about "someday" but never do.

do your actual podcast (keep it to like 2hrs and don't waste time), and then record another one of those backup episodes for future use on a holiday (keep that to 1hr or 90 minutes).

if you complain about a lack of vacation, plan better IMO...but who knows.

Oh shyt. I am laughing at Spotify hitting Joe with the exact same idea I brought up previously. Why not work an extra day or put in an extra hour or two on one of the podcast days and record and extra hour or two of content that's not time specific. Some of their discussions they said they'd go back to like an 90's R&B bracket or something like that. Then compile episodes around those discussions and drop them when needing a vacation. The fact that Joe was too stubborn to do that and then bytches that they couldn't' get those vacation days shows some diva tendencies on his end. shyt all these three hour pods wasn't needed. Make it a two hour pod and use the third hour to record fill in content was a logical ass request from Spotify.

EDIT: I ain't realize you basically said the exact same thing. Also they're bytching about ads too. It seems Joe wants Spotify to do everything for them but doesn't want to do shyt for spotify. I'm saying that in regards to reading ads. All these podcasts have ads that don't necessarily have shyt to do with the actual podcasts but it's a way of generating revenue.

Like others pointed out they have the numbers on viewers listening habits and how many are premium subscribers and how much they use Spotify. Joe seems crazy naive in regards to how revenue is generated.

I was thinking about this as I listened to Joe's rant. Joe has made a lot of money over the last few years from outside ventures that's made him comfortably a millionaire.

But Rory, Mal and Parks aren't close to making that kinda money. I wonder if deep down they want Joe to take the deal, but are afraid to say it. Some part of them probably wants to take the deal.

They clearly said when they asked for vacation they proposed pre recorded shows and Spotify told them nikkaz no :russ::mjlol: get ya bum ass back to work fukk nikkaz
Nope you heard wrong. They proposed to Joe that maybe they could do prerecorded episodes and Joe said no and asked "who knows my audience better you or me". Basically saying his audience didn't want to hear that shyt. Joe said they were going to prerecord one episode.

Joe (as spotify exec): Maybe there is a way you can prerecord something, you don't want your audience to just go lead astray.

Joe's response was: Wait wait wait you white people not telling me how my audience acts. Who you think knows my audience better me or you.

Without knowing any details I'd hope that the whole group has witnessed enough shytty deals with quick up front dough.
