For people wondering what Hamas objective was and why they attacked…., it’s right near.

In the age of social media and real time news, this was the perfect time to strike. The entire world can witness what’s happening without filters. Even mainstream media can’t spin it.

Hamas knew what Israel’s response would be. In fact they were counting on it. And if the end result ends up being an independent sovereign Palestine with new borders, the legacy of Hamas will live forever.

Ironically, they also attacked when they did because Saudi Arabia was in the process of normalizing relations with Israel. That’s clearly dead or on life support at this point.

And the fact that Israel is attacking other countries and the United Nations publicly is only make Hamas plan come to fruition even more.

So Hamas threw thousands of their citizens under the bus for clout??? :dahell:

North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
So Hamas kidnapped some Israelis and the Israelis killed 12,000 Palestinian, and might cut Gaza in half as a result….. and Hamas are now giving the hostages back for aid that was coming in before they kidnapped those people.

Hamas might be the stupidest terrorist organization in the history of Terrorism. No disrespect to the families of the hostages and the hostages themselves because they get to live their lives….. but what was Hamas end game if they ain’t killing hostages once that invasion started. Just from a real politik position this is the stupidest shyt I seen in a while.

That’s because you lack imagination.

Saudi Arabia was about to normalize ties with Israel. That’s growing increasingly all but dead.

Hamas knew that Israel’s response would be. In fact they counted on it. In the age of social media, the world is seeing Israel for what it truly is. Countries are starting to turn their backs on Israel as a result. This is different that any other battle in this conflicts history. The entire world is watching. Millions calling for a Palestinian state.

So if the end result becomes a free sovereign Palestine state with new borders, the name Hamas will be immortalized.

And Israel continues to expose themselves every day.

first bolded is objectively wrong. like way off.

second bolded means not a damned thing sadly. what does south africa, spain, and a few other countries removing their seal of approval for israel actually do? they were bystanders to begin with

you cannot 'hope' your people across a finish line like this. 12k+ people are dead because hamas lied to themselves about how this would play out. all that money and effort should've gone towards a modern underground railroad out if this was the play. like fr, yemen shooting promos for themselves they ain't trying to actually *do* anything. social media is not a bomb shelter.

Iran hyping these groups up behind the scenes then not picking up the phone.

It's a terrible situation over there, but this some crash dummy leadership that shouldn't be overlooked.

What did they achieve besides getting their internet clout up?
Yeah it doesn’t make sense and now they are giving people back. Thankfully those people get to go home, but so much death and suffering for nothing gained.

i do lack imagination but I can use logic and it looks like Palestine got invaded, damn near genocided, and got nothing from it but clout.

As the bombs keep dropping, more dismembered kids are blasted even in the mainstream press, the diplomatic calls grow louder. Blinken told the Israelis he was trying to buy them time. Netanyahu knows his political career is over and doesn’t mind this dragging out. His coalition partners are making genocidal statements every other day.

And behind all that, the West Bank is seeing a wave of armed settler violence. Armenians in Jerusalem are getting kicked out from there space since the 4th century (think about that for a sec)…

In a slightly more just world, everyone would cut off diplomatic relations with Israel and there would be economic costs to this. Beyond the costs they have for this military op which are substantial.

I stopped reading after that :mjlol:

How is it way off? The deal itself or the fact that it’s dead? Saudi Arabia has said they still want the deal done after the war….

This was last month

But the longer this drags on, Saudi Arabia’s position has cooled.

Hamas was afraid that if they deal gets done, a 2 state solution would never happen. They felt Palestine would be forgotten forever in the Arab world.

the diplomatic calls ain't doing anything immediate or pertinent :dead: and its been over a month. yal really need to grasp the fact that hamas may have straight up finished this chapter of history off on its own people already.

for one of the worst months in a generation, help did not come. and the stuff that some people here are trying to boost up is nothing more than posturing against literal nonstop saturation fire. that's absurd.

you can't eat, bunker in, or get blood from empty threats, meaningless gestures, and hashtags. the plight of armenians or the closure of an embassy counts for next to nothing for people in gaza. like cmon... west bank getting hot is just further justification to punch down. great stuff.

lebanon's economy can barely even afford a show of force. they spent the last few years trying to dodge coups lol

saudi arabia could threaten oil flow and have everyone seated at the table, cease fires and supplementary governments and all, before the IDF even moved tanks in.

if anything, them not up and shelving israel's outreach completely at the onset of this just solidifies that they have passively approved this violence, the outcome, and the way forward.

saudi's stance is textbook impartiality and enablement

The diplomatic stuff is symbolic. I agree. But it’s important. The Israelis have tried cultivating their image worldwide. They are so worried about it. Look what they said to the Green Party of South Korea of all people. They are trying to control the narrative and speech.

Hamas is dug in. They’ll never give up. Qatar still sponsors them. Turkey as well. The Iranians of course.

Everyday I’m like, yeah I’ve learned and followed different wars. But this one where an unarmed civilian population is boxed in, moving to where they’ve been told, still being bombed to hell with no food, water and electricity being filmed in HD is just still wild to me.
