I would get Ecobee

You can add zones

All Nest has is that "wow" factor. I just got my downstairs HVAC redone and all they had was Nest. When I do my upstairs I'm definitely getting Ecobee

What's the point of adding thermometer zones if your HVAC not set up for it? I can see being curious of a random room in your house but it doesn't matter if your HVAC zone is for the whole floor anyway. Or am I missing something?

HVAC controls to whatever room the thermostat is in.... for us it's the master

Thing is I have a gym and a game room in the same zone. I had to get a floor unit for the gym and in the game room I don't have shyt.... it just gets hot AF. If I had some nodes in there I could get cooling

Plus when we have guests/if we have kids it will be good to be able to control to an average. Makes it more comfortable for everybody

My dream would be to break upstairs up into a bunch of zones..... when our upstairs unit dies I'm gonna get that priced.

Not a fan of the look of the ecobee3 :patrice: like the more minimalist look of the nest, just called a local place said it would be around $99 to install, lets see if they go on sale for black Friday

Also the nest is going to have Google Home integration, which is key for me since I pre-ordered one

I have zoned central but also a portable window unit I move around when I don't want the central on.

I don't even care about nest. Seems like a waste. When I turn on the heat or AC, I tend to leave it alone til it's time to turn it off. Plus I have low ceilings so I no longer waste a lot of heat or AC.

Sellers are a old couple in their 80s who said they wanna just travel for the rest of their life. they are the only owners of this house. My agent sent them a lengthy list of repairs that she didn't think they'd bite on but they did :whew: Closing less than a month. I'm excited but also kind of annoyed at the same time. All these random insurance fukkers keep calling me and also I keep getting e-mails that the documents I uploaded aren't good enough :snoop: they were grilling me cause I transferred 3500 by accident between accounts and they were like where did the deposit come from? :stopitslime: i'm like from the other account check the statement!

i received a mortgage rate quote from a lender that states that condos always have higher interest rates than single family homes, even if the loan is conventional and you have a > 25% down payment.

anyone know this to be true?

Should I insure my house up to the current value or up to the amount owed on my loan?

I got my renewal coming up in a month and I'm thinking I can save some money if I do the latter.

At least value but should place a clause to mention CV OR full replacement cost.

Worth the protection on your largest asset vs saving a couple hundred throughout the year..
