Trying to buy a house some time next year in or around Houston area

Got a look at my finances by pre qualifying. Credits and income are great but these student loans are fukking me up:francis:

To get in the price range I want gonna have to grind to pay off a decent chunk of the $60,000 I owe. Right now I qualify for like $225,000 but the quality of homes in the $250,000 and up is where I want to be

I’m a nurse so with COVID going on I damn near have access to unlimited overtime but still annoying that these damn student loans delaying me. I been ignoring it like the plague :mjcry:

Almost done with my house, just doing a few more touch ups to the paint job and a couple other small details that need tending to. It's coming out fly af though imo. Hopefully I can get a break in the weather to get a nice picture of it soon. With having such limited space. I'm going to build an outdoor workbench as my next quarantine project and came across this dude's yt channel which I thought was pretty cool.

Getting some herringbone pattern crawlspace vents being made for the front and am going to paint the steps with gray shop paint.

Also, above the gate I got some security spikes that I painted green to look like grass and I ordered a metal snail and some flowers to place behind them

Thanks. Painted the stairs gray this weekend. It pulled it all together nicely.

This was a comment from one of my mom's friend's on facebook lol
The color of your house reminds me of my mother's first visit to the Bay Area and upon seeing her first purple house in Berkeley she turned to me and said, " We have codes and laws against that in Ohio." I said, "Yes, I know, why do you think I live here."

I redid the fence Sunday and getting a new roof today, courtesy of Habitat For Humanity. If anyone has or knows of a house that needs repair, definitely look up the local qualifications of them. We got approved for a $15k grant for any repairs we thought necessary, and they also have very low interest loans of up to $100k. The guy we talked to was excited to get it out to us because he said not many people are taking advantage of it, and they're sitting on tons of money just waiting to be distributed.

It's a little late in the game now, but for my cold weather folks who get at least some semblance of a cold season, it's not a bad idea to get your home winterized.

Gas utility providers often offer insulation programs where they'll come out and insulate your house for free. At minimum they'll re-weatherstrip all doors and windows and foam and cracks and points of draft. Some will even insulate your walls if they haven't got any already.
