if that happens, they might just have the two best teams play each other at the end of the year for the conference title.

I hate what’s happening to the MEAC, even tho they bougie asses talked down on us SWAC folk.

Actually with FAMU & maybe Cookman leaving, that should bring down the travel cost since they won’t have to travel to Florida anymore.

off topic but ayo @Theolodius_Black i literally just started listening to the Aristocrat of Bands after I saw them live for the first time at Honda this year.

whenever I’d watch the Atlanta or Southern Heritage Classic on YouTube id always skip whenever they played and go straight to y’all and FAMU.

them nikkas nice as hell :ohhh:
Been sleeping on them for damn bear 20 years. They’ll be a nice addition to the SWAC if the school admin grow some nuts and join a HBCU conference
They'd view it as a step down, which competition wise, they'd be right save for alcorn and su. Im guessing there's more money and opportunity in the Ohio valley:yeshrug:

shyt, i don't know. I do know they finished 9th in their conference last year:francis:

But yea the crats hella nice. One minute they crank, next minute they play the 007 theme as crisp and clear than any band you've heard. Was always a tough match up:whew:

Classy folks though. Greeted you at the buses after every game taking pictures and fellowshipping:myman:

Why are they abandoning MEAC for SWAC.
My guess? Travel:manny:

Alabama right above them with ASU being the closest school at 4 hrs. Valley the furthest school at 8 hours. shyt A&T a 9 hour drive from tally so it's gotta be travel. That's my guess

Travel is a big part of it. 9 hrs for Fam just to get to NC, and damn near 15 to get to Maryland for both Morgan State and Eastern Shore (in basketball). Hell, I forgot Delaware State. MEAC really a conference full of mid atlantic states. That’s really the big reason why A&T left. Savannah State and WSSU have all left within the past 5 years.

MEAC is a sinking ship. They’ll probably try and grab a team like Virginia State to be in the conference. At one point, I heard rumors of them wanting to ask Tuskegee. Wouldn’t make sense for kegee to me, though.

Something I’ve always wondered...what HBCU in New Orleans has the most pull?

SU
Gram
Dillard
Xavier
Or Texas Southern

it just hit me :merchant:we not gonna get a band season in the fall :why::why:

man I hope we do.

But for my high school band, we’re writing songs and designing field shows..just picked the drum major yesterday. I think things might be back to normal in time for football season.

I know the SEC said they’re playing football, hopefully the SWAC & MEAC does the same

Pull as far as what?

like most politicians, most black entrepreneurs, which school has the most alum spread over the city working.

In Atlanta, Morehouse, CAU and Spelman have a lot of people in high positions like principals, school board members, politicians, business owners etc. Having a Morehouse,CAU or Spelman degree automatically gets you hired at a lot of places here...

also, FAMU, Tuskegee, Alabama State and the small GA schools in the country (Albany, Fort Valley) have some influence on the school.

I know a few native NO cats that might know a few people but I'm not sure how much pull those people would have as far as actually accomplishing shyt but who knows
