:myman: 300 deep? :damn: I got plans of coming to one of yall home games since thats the closest swac school to me and it's right off 85....was coming this pass season but unforseen circumstances wouldn't allow me to come...what is everybody beef with Dr. O? :why: seems like a cool guy but they hate him in the youtube comments :heh:...I discover a new ASU banger almost every week when I do my back history on this band it's crazy! I got yall at #1 when it comes to indoors and march in/out cadences but I need yall to get back to top tier in the footbal stands... Let me know what you got in the works anything hbcu bands Im IN!

I can PM you about Dr.O. Can’t put family business out there

But I’m for damn sure going to homecoming this season. Our tradition for over 100 years was always to have homecoming on Thanksgiving against Tuskegee or another small school, but ASU wants more out of state students and alum to stay for homecoming, so they moved it to October this season, and it just so happens to be against SU.

we have decent crowds, but it’s damn near a sell out whenever SU, Skegee or Miles comes to Montgomery.

with Jukebox there, plus it being homecoming, the game will sell out plus another 5-7 thousand outside the stadium. shyt gonna be too hype I can’t wait

precaite your response bro frfr...wow Dr. Little was actually your DM I'm a huge fan of his...The band directors seem so serious and millitant at JSU was it intimidating performing for them? Like when im watching yall in the stands the staff be sitting there with this stern posture even the jsette sponsor is not there for any games lol...You know Travist too! seems like he's a rising star I just found out he was at whitehaven from that craigmont vs whitehaven battle that recently hit youtube...
What @staticshock said is straight facts! Especially about your crab year:russ:

That shyt is universal. Is it intimidating? It can be until you see you them relax then you realize they're no different from your uncles/dad's closest friends:russ:

It's more about respect and esprit de corps more than anything. Fun fact: the band director at whitehaven, Travis Pruit, came in the year before me and we marched together. He became section leader in 07. He was destined for what he's doing now. Here's another: band director at landry Walker in Louisiana, Chalupa, is another JSU alum i marched with:wow:

I can answer this too..IDK about now, but when me and @Theolodius_Black marched, it was way more strict and military style discipline.

Freshmen couldn’t have long hair or facial hair. We had to sit absolutely still during the games and do skits whenever the upperclassmen told us to. Like it’d be nothing going on during the game, and the upperclassmen would tell me to get up and dance in front of everyone and I had to :mjlol: shyt was fun tho

also Southern used to be super military style. Freshman males had to have bald heads up until 2011 or 2012 I believe. But schools don’t wanna get hit with hazing lawsuits, so all that is cut off.

nah I don’t know bruh. To be honest, I love Bama State and the band, but I haven’t kept up with them in a few years because of the direction the band has been going. I’ve been paying more attention to Talladega, SU & JSU :yeshrug:
yeah Im just now getting into dega I slept on them heavy because I was so consumed in the swac

Question for ya'll. How much harder is it today to get a full basketball scholarship from a Division 1 HBCU? Because before, you might have had a player who didn't jump off the radar, someone not ranked and he couldn't get into a white school but he could get a full ride to a HBCU. (but this was normally before schools like Hampton were in the Meac) is that still the same or are Divison 1 HBCU'S now getting more top level talent?

What is your definition of top level?

In football I know that Alcorn gets 3 and 2 star guys with the occasional 4 star here and there via transfer. So yeah I feel HBCUS get good recruits. We still find diamonds in the rough too, players with no stars that make the team or receive scholarships

I just mean is there more competition at HBCU'S for scholarships. Trying to help someone in my family get a basketball scholarship to college in 2021. They aren't ranked at all. I personally think its the high school. But Im wondering if he has a better chance at getting a hbcu scholarship compared to waiting and waiting for some PWI to offer one.

He should have a better shot at an HBCU if he can ball with some height
