Ferrari and RB said the TD will have little to no effect on relative performance.

People are making a bigger deal out of it than it is.

Yall gotta stop with these conspiracy theories though. The Verstappen/Hamilton battle was the best thing to happen to F1 business in a decade. If they could run that season back again they would. No one has a vendetta against Mercedes.
Of course that's what RB and Ferrari are going to say. If it will have no effect then why did they vote to delay it for 7 weeks? Should've gone ahead with the TD right away at Austria since it's no big deal. RB probably won't be affected much since they've been pretty quiet with only Verstappen coming out and saying "Mercedes floor flexes the most" and especially since Helmut Marko has been able to keep it together.

Ferrari on the other hand gave away the game. That where's Waldo, no expression on his face, daydreaming while his cars burn and drivers lose points fighting each other, looking motherfukker Binotto always stays calm but blew a gasket once Mercedes started poking around the floor.

How can you say FIA doesn't have a vendetta against Mercedes but then talk about last season and say they would do it again :dead:

Why would they want to change designs they've already committed to in a cost controlled era where any change could delay later updates/upgrades?

That doesn't even make sense. They have a set plan of how much money they have to spend and what they'd like to do with it. Spending money immediately to resdesign/build new floors should upset any TP.

There's always a back and forth between teams. Last year it was the flexing wings. Did it cause any significant difference in performance for any team after the TD was enforced? No. Again, these are the same minor off track development battles that occur yearly that rarely have any long run consequence in the championship.

Yes, Formula 1 would love to have another battle between Max/Lewis again. You're focused on the result, but that's not what drove the interest. I'm talking about the season long battle.

fukking :dead: at the bolded.

But I think the issue is less that the FIA has an issue with Mercedes specifically, and more that they have an issue with one team having a deathgrip on both championships for most of a decade. I fully believe that if Red Bull had continued their run they started in 2010, the knives would've eventually come out for them too.

But to act like there was no fukkery at all after the way last season ended is crazy as hell.

If the FIA was so hard up to stop Mercedes, why didn't they do it after 2016 when they were at their most dominant?

They steamrolled everyone in 2019 and 2020. Why not then?

I literally just agreed with you that the issue isn't Mercedes, and just that the championship level has been stagnant for an incredibly long time.

Mercedes had the driver title from 2014 to 2021.

The constructer title has been with either Red Bull or Mercedes since 2010, 2009 if you want to count Brawn, since it essentially turned into Mercedes after a year. None of this has been a target effort against Mercedes specifically, but more about opening things up to maintain newfound interest in all the teams, as opposed to just one or two.

I mean, if you really wanna start asking tinfoil hat conspiracy questions, you could ask if this has all been in an effort to placate Volkswagen/Andretti since they appear to be moving toward entering the field in the next few years.

Sir Lewis about that action as usual:salute:

Replies full of the typical:mjpls: but fukk em. Can't wait for the day a team wins the title with two black drivers and a black team boss.

Amazing stuff.

No reason why black folks cant dominant in F1 in numbers like we do in other sports.

2 out of 3 of these kids (at least) will probably be in formula 1 eventually.

Of course there is, money.

Racing is the most expensive sport to develop in. Bar none. Mutiple millions needed to get through karting and lower formulas.

Almost every F1 driver under 30 has/had millionaire/billionaire parents or massive sponsors. Ocon might be the only one that really had to scrap.

That’s not to say its not possible for black people to succeed(McLaren has a young Nigerian breh from America in its youth program), but yeah, extremely tough to make it to an F1 grid regardless of talent and money.

Missed the first couple of minutes of this session, and had the first one on as background noise. They fukking up already?

Also, :dead: at Nyck de Vries being the Mercedes "youth" driver, and being near 30.

.....as I type this, I see Sainz trying to get into the car while it's on jacks. Never mind, they're fukking up already. :mjlol:

they went ahead and took the 10 place penalty to replace parts on Sainz car. There's not gonna be a battle for the championship this year. Ferrari shot themselves in the foot
