It not about the safety car, it's about the rules. The back markers unlap or they don't. Some back markers had already unlapped, and Masi decided to let the race start. It's unacceptable and tainted.

it was foolish and unfair.. but not surprising because they are always going to lean into wanting a race to be finished on green in that situation than under caution.

Race finishes under caution then it'll be claimed that we never got to see how Lewis tyres would have played out etc..

Lol what does that do? Who fights the case in this case? Can it actually be disputed?

They did not follow proper safety car protocol allowing all backmarkers to unlap themselves than waiting a lap for them to create distance. Under this we would have finished under safety car. Only the 5 between max and Lewis were permitted to overtake this is in clear violation of the rules. This will be decided in court.

Yes, but it finishes within the rules. As I said, I have no issue if the race restarted and Lewis was overtaken within the rules. Either make it clear that lapped cars cannot unlap, or allow them all to unlap. Masi played god. He should lose his job.
