Staying at Spurs for another season allows him assess the entire market at his prime. Going to Bayern now imo is premature.

Real Madrid still need a 9. Bayern will likely still need a 9. Barca will need a Lewa successor. United could upgrade whoever we have so far…

United should convince him to stay and we sign him pre-contract in January.

Signing for utd is not far off signing an extension at Spurs. . . Utd aren't winning anything significant in the next few years - Kane isnt going to want to sign off his career with just a carabao cup/FA cup. At least at Bayern he's near enough guaranteed a League title . . then watch as he comes back to the EPL after 2 seasons there. I think if England had won the Euros in 2021, he would've been content and ended his career at spurs. The dude just wants to get that habitual loser tag off his back before it's too late.

CAF reveals new format for 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers | CAFOnline.com

This new WCQ format is very good from CAF. Simple and straight forward. Gotta give them their kudos for this one.

54 member nations for 9 groups of 6. 10 games played and winner of each group goes to the WC.

The top 4 group runner-ups enter playoffs for the 1 intercontinental WC playoff spot allocated to CAF.

Jul 13th is the draw for WCQ groups. Starts at 3PM GMT/11am EST and can be watched on CAF online.

Not too many surprises in terms of seeding although Burkina Faso will definitely be the team everyone in Pot 1 wants to avoid.

At least no BS Cameroon vs CIV in the group stages like in the 2022 WCQ :francis:

Copa takes place during a similar timeframe and you rarely see NTs take it with so little seriousness. AFCON is held in the middle of the European club schedule and still get strong sides. Even the Asian Cup is taken seriously. I think it’s weird that big sides have decided to prioritize the nations league over the federation cup.
Gold Cup is honestly a comp between USA and MX. Every now and then one of the bigger island nations (Panama, CR) might crack a final but IIRC, only Canada has won a gold cup outside of USA and Canada

AFCON, especially with how hard qualifying for WC historically had been for african nations, is a really really big tournament for CAF. Yaya touched on this during the last WC as well.

This format will be great for development of weaker NTs in Africa that struggle to get regular friendlies and comp, outside of preliminary qualifiers. Guaranteed 10 matches for each country. Can’t wait for draw.
