Also huge grain of salt but

Mayimbe saying Lord and Miller met with WB about the Flash during hiatus.
The Wrap

Directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller met with DC Films during the production hiatus of the Star Wars “Han Solo” spinoff, insiders exclusively told TheWrap.

The duo met about the possibility of directing “The Flash” after Rick Famuyiwa left the project over creative differences last year, according to multiple individuals familiar with the project. It was unclear whether they were already considering an exit from the “Han Solo” project.

you don't really believe that do you? Come on

An origin story about a non-human discovering what it means to be human/how to live with humans, while faced with one of their own who despises humans and tries to turn the hero against the humans - the hero decides to stick up for humankind and kills the villain.

Meanwhile a soldier sacrifices his life on a plane for the greater good. One of the parental figures sacrifices their lives to protect the hero.

The non-human also falls in love with a human. Ow and the non-human's parents tell them they don't HAVE to fight to defend humans. The non-human has godlike powers and is tempted to use that power against humans. They're not the goofy version of the 70's/80's but a darker re-imagining that show a glimpse of how things could've been if the hero turned on humans.

I could go on, but do I really have to

Superman wasn't really a character tho, other characters would tell him things (instructing the audience) and this would lead to furthering a plot point but his motivation and characterisation wasn't as well flesh out out as WW. You walked out of WW knowing who Diana was and why she turned her back on mankind. After 2 movies with superman I still don't know anything about him other than he would save Lois before saving 100 unknowns in a burning building
