This Justice League story is taking place before Batman's "death" and Gordon taking over. When it is over it will synch up with current events in the DCU.
That is how Justice League books have been forever; lagging behind the events in the character's solo books until an already started JL arc has completed.

My problem is that in this JL story Batman now knows who the Joker is, yet in Endgame he was struggling with the Joker's identity like always. That shyt just doesn't match up.

Maybe once he loses the powers of the Mobius Chair, Batman forgets all the secrets of the universe that were revealed to him?:manny:
The story isn't over yet so getting all worked up over a continuity issue that might not even end up being a problem seems premature.

Alex Ross’ ‘Secret Wars’ #8 cover features Super, subtle cameo
by Benjamin Kaye | July 18, 2015 @ 9:10 AM | 11 Comments |

Last week, we pointed out that Wes Craig’s variant cover for The Flash #44, celebrating the 75th anniversary of Green Lantern, featured one Galactus-sized cameo. Marvel has now returned the favor with an even subtler guest appearance on one of its own front splahses.

Alex Ross’ cover for Secret Wars #8 is a gorgeous work of art, with Mr. Fantastic and Dr. Doom clashing in the middle as reality rips and explodes around them. You can see the origin of the Hulk; the death of Elektra; the birth of Franklin Richards; and even a ride with the Rawhide Kid, Kid Colt, and, oh, let’s say the Dakota Kid. Down in the bottom left corner of the cover is, of course, Spider-Man. But this isn’t a depiction of just any old “Spider-Man on a radio tower” scene, and he’s actually not alone in that image.

If you look just below his right leg, there’s the tiniest splash of red there. See?

Why, whatever could that be? Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it’s Superman! Well, it’s Superman’s boot, at the very least.

Yes, that particular pose that Ross has Spider-Man in is an homage to the 1976 crossover Superman vs. The Amazing Spider-Man: The Battle of the Century, with a cover designed by Carmine Infantino and Ross Andru, with dikk Giordano on inks.

Secret Wars #8 should hit in November, and you can check out how Ross bringing Superman back to the Marvel Universe fits into his whole puzzle below:

‘The Flash’ Green Lantern variant has an unexpected, giant-size cameo
by Kevin Melrose | June 12, 2015 @ 2:46 PM | 14 Comments |

Galactus, the Devourer of Worlds, knows a good planetary buffet when he sees one, and he’s apparently willing to cross universes — and publishers — to get to it.

Among the covers debuted this afternoon by DC Comics to celebrate the 75th anniversary of Green Lantern is Wes Craig’s fun variant for The Flash #44, which depicts Barry Allen and John Stewart racing through space, just ahead of a battalion of Parademons. (Is that what you call them, a battalion? A sleuth? A murder?) Scattered throughout the background are tiny cameos by the likes of Ambush Bug, Superman, Wonder Woman, Hawkman, Starman Mister Miracle, Orion and even Mister Mxyzptlk. But that’s not all …

If you squint and look in the lower right-hand corner, you’ll spy Galactus and his herald Silver Surfer, clearly scouting that tasty, tasty Multiverse platter. And, hey, who can blame them? They don’t call it “the hunger that does not cease” for nothing.

DC’s Green Lantern variants arrives in September, followed immediately by Earth’s — or, rather, Earths‘ — delicious doom.
