Iron Man already has cool villains. Bendis was just being a dismissive idiot in those interviews.

:patrice: they're okay. The point Bendis and the team was making though is that they're not really that memorable or standout in any significant way. He doesn't have a colorful rogues gallery like spider man or batman or even flash.

A writer who didn't suck would be able to take C and D level villains and revamp them so that they could be taken seriously while also introducing some new bad guys into the mix. Just dismissing an existing rogues gallery as a bunch of bums is weak.
Geoff Johns has done villain rehab on every book he has worked on to great success. Bendis should give it a try but instead he will probably just make The Hood become Iron Man's new arch-nemesis.

His rogues are great with certain writers. Michelinie and Fraction did great with them.

Bendis was being way too dismissive for a guy that has never created a good villain.

All good points. We'll see what happens

Realk talk.. Tony doesn't really have any good villains. and at this point writers are not going to waste good ideas on IP they don't own.

that tony villain thing was what I was complaining about earlier.

they're mostly street level folks that a super genius in high tech armor that can level a city shouldn't be fighting, evil CEO/Businessmen/Businesses or folks that either stole his armor or IS his evil armor.

Oh, and The Mandarin.

Warren Ellis was able to make The Ghost an interesting character.

Madame Masque has tons of potential. Especially if you throw her dad Count Nefaria into the mix.

Living Laser has a cool power set that can be taken advantage of and a decent backstory.

The Controller has potential. A lunatic with super-strength and the ability to control minds is worth revamping.

Temugin is a cool character already and just needs an opportunity to shine.

The Mauler has the perfect backstory to be the anti-Iron Man. A dude with a hi-tech battle suit who blames corporations and the rich for all of his problems. He is like the Bizarro Iron Man.

There are villains in Iron Man's rogues gallery that are worth taking a crack at retooling. I am not saying spend time on The Unicorn or Firebrand but his villains are not a complete lost cause.

You leave the unicorn alone, dammit.

and I'm not gonna lie, yeah. Living Laser's powerset is godly.... they just need to keep him out of that human looking form.

and I like Madame Masque... but more as a tweener. But that's just me.
