I refuse to buy into this "Cyclops is cool" nonsense. Cyclops was and always will be the simpiest simp to ever wear an X on his belt buckle and all the out of character propping and stroking that the current crop of writers keep doing with him won't change that.

It's a pretty decent read and sets up a new universe where Flash Gordon, Mandrake the Magician and The Phantom exist in modern times and ave to band together to stop Ming the Merciless.

Y'know now that you mention it Grant Morrison was the one who started the make-over of Cyclops by taking him from Jean Grey's lapdog to cheating on her with Emma Frost. Leaving Madelyne Pryor was pure unadulterated simping for Jean though.
And he is def an a$$hole which Morrison still made sure to keep as part of his character.
Dudes like Bendis, Gillen and Aaron seem to be using Cyclops as their own personal Mary Sue in these X-books now.
