Hmmm..I don't know about that. Scarlet Witch was how everything in Marvel flipped upside down back in 2004 and 2005. She was the one who DESTROYED the Avengers and created the need for the "New Avengers" that Bendis wrote for 8 years. She was the one turned mutantkind into an "Endangered Species" when she turned on Magneto at the end of House of M and left them with just 200 mutants left. Her story was a little bigger than the Hulk return....it involved the X-Men and the Avengers both. Spider-Man got fukked over too because he thought he had a son and Gwen Stacy back but that was just Pietro using Wanda to create all of that.
Yea, I'd agree that things ultimately should have ended with Wanda in some way or another given that it all began with her in disassembled and peaked again with House of M.
Hulk still should've been reintroduced there and shown as the strongest non-Wanda threat to Sentry however. For one because, sentimentally, Hulk had been revealed to be the Sentry's best friend early on in Robert's solo series years prior. And two, because Hulk and Sentry had essentially stalemated in WWH with Bruce Banner scoring the TKO on Rob shortly after.
Even if they went the dbz route and had hulk go at sentry on some ssgoku vs cell shyt, hulk coming close but ultimately losing their rematch but then wanda coming in on some gohan ss2 shyt to end it.
Either way, it was always glaring to me that the two most impactful characters of that decade weren't even in the finale that was supposed to bring closure and understanding to the decade. That, along with the senseless heroic age that didn't last more than a couple weeks, is when i could safely say that marvel was just on that bullshyt the whole time
