I'm about halfway through X of Swords. I had to wait to start it because I wanted to get caught up on all the other X-books beforehand (except that Juggernaut mini).

I'm liking it more than I thought I would have, but the pacing is all over the place. The main X-Men issues are literally nothing but exposition, and they are such a chore to get through.

I thought it was cool at first because the first half was all about retrieving the swords, and we got some nice character moments like the Storm and T'Challa stuff, the Cypher stuff which I really liked, and even the Hellions stuff even though none of them were in the tournament. But after they all get their swords, we have to stop the story to get some exposition, then the contestants from Krakoa and Arrako meet up with Saturnyne, then we get more exposition, then all the contestants have to sit down and have dinner.

So here I am more than halfway through the even and literally nothing has happened yet.

and while Im here, fukk this King in Black event. I'm sick and fukking tired of storylines going off the rails cause everybody fighting one enemy.

so every book you read, it's EXACTLY THE SAME as the last book.

I been sick of this shyt since WorldBreaker Hulk dangled Imposter Black Bolt out the ship while EVERY BOOK had someone watching and saying "he's stronger and madder than ever before!!!! "

I read the first issue of the King In Black series and thought it was basura and all the tie in issues of books I like have been mediocre too.

Like who gives a damn about Knull? He's a bigger nobody than the plant dude from that Avengers event that just passed.

Knull is cool as a backstory. Like how he was protrayed in Silver Surfer: Black or really, any of the background cosmic stuff they've been building to.

Then we got this Phoenix shyt right after. Cause why not. Theyd rather I read Scott Pilgrim again? Really? Some Luna Brothers?

Somehow Hellions has been my favorite X book so far. I didn't give af about any of these characters before but it's fun seeing them interact with each other.
