Yes. I hit Budapest, Krakow, & Prague last year by myself. Right now I’m trying to decide between Barcelona & Zagreb for the 4th and I’m hitting that alone. If you’re don’t like talking to strangers then traveling solo probably isn’t the best thing to do but I can be pretty outgoing so it’s no problem for me.
How was Poland? I’ve heard funny stuff about that country for black travelers

I didn't have any problems there. I had a really good time and the people were friendly. I wanted to see the concentration camp at Auschwitz so that's the only reason Poland was in my list. That was a very somber experience. I don't recall seeing any other black people and it didn't bother me like it had in the past when I was the only black person in a spot.

Anyone else think Amsterdam is a dope ass city? The 2 and the 12 and I think 5 took me everywhere I needed to go, I think I paid $30 for a 5 day tram pass. Plus Staying near Dam square you’re within walking distance of great street food, great restaurants, street clothes shopping, upscale shopping, hookers, drugs, bars. Pretty much everything. I just wished I could’ve ventured out to Harleem and the outskirts of he city.

A few of my peers tell me Germany is dope like that too, might have to put that on my radar.

What credit cards do y'all use when traveling? My current cards have foreign transaction fees of 2.7% (American Express Blue Cash) and 3% (Citibank ThankYou Preferred).

get you a no foreign transaction fee card asap!:damn::damn: Them transactions add up real quick

Chase Sapphire Reserve/Preferred
I also got BoA Rewards

Yea those fees add up, but another way to look at it is this. For every $100 you plan to spend, just add $3. At the end of the day, it's kinda marginal. When I did my last trip I spend like $1k on ground which is like $30 at the end of the day. Not gonna kill you at the end of the day, but if you're in the market for a new card then might as well get the No transaction fee card.

I wanna go to Africa brehs. I wanted to go to the Congo (DRC) or maybe Angola for religious/ancestral reasons but I heard its dangerous and not a good look plus I wouldnt know any of the languages like that so Im looking into Cape Town from a friend told me on some party shyt for my 30th bday. Anywhere else yall would recommend? Is Lagos really popping like that? I also heard Marrakech is amazing

If you speak some French you'll be good in DRC. Even if, you'd be surprised how much of a language you can learn just being on ground for a few days and are constantly bombarded by the language.

I digress. CT would be a good spot if you wanna visit the African continent. I've done Jo'Burg and it's a very, very accessible city to a Nigerian-American

Is Lagos really popping like that? Yea, it is. Word to @Lord Scarf Can't wait till I touch back this December :blessed:

It's been 4 long years :mjcry:

When you cross 3rd mainland bridge to Lagos Island :wow:

Going to a 3D movie and paying 4 dollars and they bring popcorn and drinks to your seat like your a true oga

Fine women everywhere

Can’t wait to go back my almost two weeks there I met like 30 women

Headed to Egypt next month I keep seeing conflicting things online, some say I can wear shorts some say I can't. What should I do?

Always err on the conservative side at first. You can pack a few shorts in the event you get on ground and it’s all clear.

Otherwise, you want to make sure you have the ample amounts of the correct clothing.

Do any of you have Global Entry?

What are you card fees? I'm not really looking for a new card. I'm still teetering on getting one just for travel. But I don't travel much.

And what do you mean by "on ground"? Is the flight itself charged as a foreign transaction?

I used my debit card and it was 3% on every dollar. Spend $100, pay $3. Again, marginal. The fee is charged for converting the local currency to US dollars.

On ground as in when I arrived my destination. On ground in Europe I spent like $1k.

What I will say is this, ATM fees are a different animal. $5 foreign transaction fee + the 3%. So if you withdraw $100 in local currency you get hit with $8 when it’s all said and done. But the ATM got the best rates. So withdraw sparingly in bulk.

Flight was charged in USD.

brehs help me out
birthday is 3 weeks from today so going away, narrowed it down to either lisbon portugal or amsterdam netherlands haven't been to either, price for flight is about the same

im into photography and culture, just wet to london and paris last month and really enjoyed london paris not so much

@Idaeo

Don't know if you've already booked but you can't go wrong with either. Two different atmospheres, stating the obvious : Amsterdam is northern-europe, Lisbon southern. So it depends what you're looking for. I loved Lisbon because it's really laid-back, lots of culture, sunny of course, lots of street-art, cheap, good food, sea nearby, old school houses and streets, etc. No doubt one of my best trips these past years. There's an afro community in Lisbon obviously, but the one in Amsterdam might be more visible/established. If you've already been to London and Paris (I live in Paris, and totally understand why people would not like it so much lol) seeing Lisbon will be a different experience. Amsterdam too, but less imo. Language-wise I think the Dutch speak better english than the Portuguese but the younger Portuguese speak it quite well.

Overrated as fukk.

That what everybody say sadly. Literally everybody say it.

I hate to come off ass ignorant but I’m not a fan of strict Muslim society :hubie:shyt no place for a person like me for multiple reasons. Too much extra shyt to worry about.

I’m going for 3days to check it out not expecting too much I was just trying to see if anybody got Dubai fun cheat sheet. But I’m just content with doing some sight seeing, eating, and relaxing.
