Oh for sure. King would hate it and it wouldn’t really make sense in the context of the shining movie because the ghosts don’t age, but damn it wouldve been a moment

I was hoping they would use that DeepFake tech to have Jack's face and voice from the original movie slapped on top of some random actor.
The recast of Jack Torrance was the only recast of THE SHINING characters that wasn't a home run for me.
Alexandra Essoe as Wendy and Carl Lumbly as Halloran were great especially Essoe.

I would thinK that @Jello Biafra woyld also have the ability to differentiate between hardcore horror (zombie) and horrorporn -( that Asian film) But continue- what’s your POV on his “red neck “ films ? And yeah, I think a dude with an Ebola infected dyck raping and spreading to other people is way o.d. For horror. Zombie tows the line but not like that. Nope. I'm in my 40s and been so heavy into Category III since a teenager maybe around '91.
I actually got to meet Simon Yam at (NYAFF) I think 2008 or 2009. He was friendly and had a warm chat about a few of his older flicks and photography. I told him I loved Him in Run and kill and Dr. lamb and he laughed at Dr. lamb. He said, "You really like that"? Think he hates that film. Just like Wong hates his older Category III work. Alot of times they did those movies for a paycheck to feed their family.

You ever go to NYAFF (New York Asian film festival)? It's been going on every year in the summer. They always bring some dope guests. Met Sammo Hung one year and a lot of other Japanese directors and stars.
