I watched Cat People and Lifeforce before specifically so I can watch this. I remember only trying to watch this as a kid for boobs. The movie actually takes itself pretty seriously. Probably too serious IDK. Forest Whitaker was really good in this movie either way. I just wasn't interested that much in the fish out of water plotline with Sid. I know that it's supposed to show how our society views women or beautiful woman in particular but :yeshrug: wasn't that interesting to me.

I do miss sexy woman killer horror movies. They don't really make them anymore. The practical effects are good.

The cast for this movie is stacked as hell. I mean look at the cast

Michelle Williams - even as a kid shes was good. Maybe why she was in the Venom movies.
Ben Kingsley - wasn't that good in this imo.
Forest Whitaker - is the movies mvp.
Michael Madsen
Alfred Molina - wasn't given much to do.

The movie gets called an Alien rip off. I guess after I thought about it a little bit, but the creature design reminded me of some H.R. Giger artwork I saw. Specifically the one that below. Not suprised that he actually worked on this movie aswell. I saw this blog before after reading that he did the work for Alien and some of the Cenobite designs from Hellraiser franchise may be inspired by his work Alien Explorations

This one isn't as good as the first, but it's more entertaining imo. The practical effects are even better. There's a lot more jokes. Even the cgi is kinda good. You do get to see more of the Alien forms. At the end, the movie kinda goes Hentai.

Mykelti Williamson's(Bubba, Forrest Gump) character had me dying. There's no way this dude would be sent to outer space by NASA. Halfway through the movie I was calling him Astro Unc. I am very glad he's there because Michael Madsen is much less interested this time around.

Should I continue the Species Franchise? There's 2 more of these...
in Species III, Natasha Henstridge's replacement has sex with a dude in a nasty woodshed gas station restroom. She breaks him off (as far as someone could be broke off in a fake ass sex scene. she kills him of course after that but if you gotta go out, damn :damn:

Is this mentioned in the book? If so I haven’t gotten to that part yet.

She spent her teens years being a “groupie” where she would go to all the biggest band shows… every story would end up the same… she’d be at the after party where one of the band members would take her to a separate room they’d make out and she would eventually be kicked out because she wouldn’t go all the way.

The first celeb she got with was some dude name Tom Jones and she had to get stitches on her coochie after because he was packing like that lmao :dame: she found Tom jones a few days later in his room making out with his band members called the blossoms.

I looked them both up and it had me floored it was a bunch of black chicks and a white dude :dahell:

Lmaooo I’m deep into the book and she still hasn’t become Elvira yet
You don’t know Tom Jones? Everyone has to have heard one of his songs:

Just watched the Tomie movie on Shudder. Really hard for me to articulate why I felt eh about it.

I just know the manga specifically focuses on Tomie and I didn’t feel anything to the other characters in the movie other than the protagonist and her boyfriend.

Catering towards the Tomie crowd but not setting up a foundation for viewers without the Tomie experience kinda dampens it too. It doesn’t hit the mark for the fans imo.

I digged the pace and tone. I thought the score had its moments.

But there’s something about it that has me like eh
