I’m about 100 pages into Elvira autobiography. She’s had an insane life before she became a horror icon
. The 50s, 60s, 70s were different man.
One example I got is when she went on a family vacation to Las Vegas. She convinced her parents to take her to a showgirl performance. Some of the ladies noticed her and brought her back to the boss where he told her he wanted Elvira to become a showgirl— she was underage and the owner didn’t give a fukk and after talking to her parents, with her constant whining they accepted. So she was 17 living in Las Vegas being a showgirl for years.
Being a showgirl had some rules and if were broken you could lose your job. One of them being was no talking to black people. Her friend on the job got fired because she was seen out on a date with Wilt Chamberlin.
I’m bringing this up to highlight a moment a few stories later.
Elvira quit being a showgirl then decided to travel to Rome. She ended up dating this Italian dude. This guy would wake up at 3am every morning and would vanish for hours. One night he did it she finally decided to look for answers. In a wardrobe she found a bunch of women clothing and items. When she confronted him about this he beat her severely to the point she passed out.
When woke up she couldn’t escape. Dude locked her in that place and never returned. She was there for a week limited food. She kept screaming for help but no one could hear her. Eventually one of her bf friends let her out and she ran as fast as she could.
The place she was staying in kicked her out because she wasn’t there to pay her rent. She ended up contacting this girl she met in Rome, and she offered Elvira to stay with her.
Tell me why this chick was living in an abandoned house with no power or food
. She made Elvira pretend to be prostitues With her where they made dudes pay half the money up front and they would run away. One random morning she woke up to that chick gone and she stole all of Elvira shyt besides her passport
So she’s in rome homeless and lost. Somehow she runs into her friend she used to work with as a showgirl. Her friend left her bf because he beat the fukk out of her tooo.
They’re trying hard to survive in rome. One day they decide to go to this event ….. WHERE THEY RUN INTO WILT CHAMBERLIN.
Wilt gives them both 100 dollars…. Which is a fukking a lot during this time…. Her friend goes back to her abusive bf and Elvira leaves rome
