Here’s my quick thoughts on shyt I’ve seen recently:
I planned to rewatch the trilogy during Halloween time. Saw the first 2 and Almost forgot about the last one until about a week ago. Originally I thought the third one was all right, but watching it with the others and it’s really weak. Even though I didn’t mind Old Man Michael, I understand why it was hated on. There was too much focus on the guy turning into a killer and the granddaughter drama wasn’t really needed. These are definitely the goriest Halloween films, and I like that. Despite the last film, I like the trilogy.
This is a pretty solid take on the haunting subgenre. It takes some time to get interesting, but not too deep into the film. It mixes a bit of the cult leader antagonist into it and I liked that. The ending was kinda unexpected but not something I had an issue with.
This felt like the 2000s type of horror that dropped during the time. It’s nothing to praise nor shyt on. The mom trope was expected and the kills are fine at times.
They really amped up the outlandish fukkery with this one. It’s a step down from the first, but it has its moments. Coulda cut out 15-20 minutes.
Was able to find this one. It’s a Mexican anthology. I enjoyed part 1, but this one wasn’t as good. There’s some strong shorts (Piggy and Fireballs), but others are just ok at best.
A sci-horror I wasn’t expecting to see as an indie. I liked it. It’s something different and it’s a dark comedy at times. The ending may leave you
and I read there’s a follow up film that connects to this one. Despite the crazy ending, I wasn’t lost and left with questions.
Bonus:
A sci-fi that ima post here since the sci-fi thread is pretty dead. It’s a decent, lite film. I wasn’t expecting Alien Frankenstein to be the baddie.
